Fourth Dimension Insurance Repairs
Have you noticed that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster is a maniac ?
Re: Fourth Dimension Insurance Repairs
My son's SV was repaired by them. They are a very large repair outfit.
Collection was punctual but they took their time to get it back to him. He had to phoned a few times as it took about 3 weeks longer than they said.
It was noticed that they used some second hand bits, probably from another damaged bike.
The new bodywork panels were sprayed black to colour match, but on removal some were red colour on the inside.
Overall a reasonable repair.
As your claim is none fault, you have a better standing to demand that the bike is returned to at least the condition that it was in pre-accident.
I understand they are quite quick to write bikes off.
Maybe ask them what they are willing to offer for the damage first? - It may work out financially better for you to get the parts and pocket some cash.

Re: Fourth Dimension Insurance Repairs
Thanks both, that was my impression too.
I've told my broker that I don't want them (4th Dimension) to deal with it. So, they have put me onto my actual insurer...who is closed all weekend.
Likewise the car insurer is closed all weekend, but they did call me to say that things were progressing and for me to call them on Monday.

I'm dealing with them at the mo. They do seem very quick to write the bike off. They wrote mine off and have offered a reasonable valuation for the bike.
However when I looked Into buying the bike back from them (its not that bad a state) the price to buy is higher than I thought it would be. I get the feeling they have a good business doing up bikes and selling them. There again its a business servicing insurance companies so they have to add value and get profit somewhere.
I just wonder where they sell all these damaged \ fixed bikes...

Re: Fourth Dimension Insurance Repairs
They dealt with my zx6r when I had an accident a few years ago, wrote it off and the buy back figure was way too high.
to be fair the process was quick and easy, and the payout was about right.
If it hadn't been a write off though I'd have wanted a local repairer.

Same with me the buy back was stupid money !! Got paid out quick enough, but there are several companies involved, seems a con to me.
