Anyone fancy making it a SWB massive attendance?

I'm thinking of going to the Aberdare races which should be on the weekend before, and a few days of Welsh ride outs between events.

Looks good :-bd
If there's going to be a list then, depending on how my own racing season goes, count me in as a definate. I'll confirm around June time.

Was just reading about it, I know of someone who's going to be putting a team in.

Just clipped the following lines from a site about it.

The 5.25 mile tarmac track surrounding the Eppynt ranges near Sennybridge in Mid Wales will host a time trial style race, similar to the format of the Isle Of Man TT.

The event has been given the green light by the secretary of state for defence.

It is their intention to stage racing in various classes, including: Lightweight – 125cc to 250cc capacity, Supertwin – 650cc capacity, Supersport – 600cc capacity, Superstock – 1000cc capacity

Welsh RR Zero Electric Road Race The event will also incorporate a parade of classic & exotic machinery.

Each class will consist of a maximum of 40 machines, with 2 motorcycles setting off together at 10 second intervals.

Each machine will be timed in order to produce an eventual winner in their respective categories

Just seen the video so ignore this bit: Can anyone see or work out which roads will be raced? I see some roads around there but nothing which seems to add up to the right distance. I wanted to look at the roads on Street View to see what the racing might be like and whether spectators will get good views.

Part of me would love to go but my wife and I agreed last time (Ulster) that the chances of seeing someone die or get badly injured took a lot of the enjoyment out of it for us. Far more of an exciting and meaningful event than short circuits but not worth the cost. Ulster took a lot of precautions but still people died. If this is just roads with no allowance for racing I'm out. If the roads are fairly wide open with some chance of minor changes (which is probably all they will be able to make in the first year) improving safety it might be worth it.

The roads are on mod land so I doubt Google were allowed to visit.

I edited the message as I found the video after posting but I was probably too late for most of you to see.

As Steve Plater said it looks almost perfect apart from three or four trees and some barriers which will need padding and the worst of those are on straights. Definitely looks like a winner to me. We may not join the mass ride as we have accommodation available just across the Severn and would usually go from there on the day but I'll keep watching out for a route and if it fits in we will join for the last bit along with any Brissle people.

I must say it’s all positive news, and it brings road racing to the main land. And maintain longevity for road racing. And secure road racing for the future

Can't see where the proposed track sits in relation to the main road through the ranges (reading this on my phone), but depending where it is the could be some great long views available. The landscape is quite Dartmoor like with rolling hills and long, open, valleys.

What a cracking idea, and far better than CoW ........
