yes - i would say that the site it over moderated.

and if the post that was deleted was the laptop bomb ticking down then thats a shame for three reasons...

firstly there have and will be far more offensive posts on this site.

two - what happened to free speech and if you think its really going to get the forum shut down then thats not a worry cause have you not seen some of the satan worshiping, beastiality etc forums...

and thirdly - it was blo0dy funny.

I normally don't mind deleted threads etc etc, but I see it more on this forum more than any other. The threads on this site are so tame compared to other threads. Let's face it, it is a biking site, so most people browsing will be 16 years or over, it's not as if kids will be viewing the site.

If you want to keep this argument rattling on, all you have to do is reply. I'm merely suggesting the site is over-moderated, we don't need a popularity contest to see who agrees with the mods over the rest. Just i'm not the sort of person to bend over and let absolute rule prevail on the internet.

If you can't take criticism, then this site will never improve.

Ok heres a list of threads moved from Public forums since November They show Topic title who moved topic and date of last post.

Over 90% are spammers and some are Items that have been sold.

Don't know what most of them were.

It has reminded me that at least one of my posts has been deleted by speedy from his tread. I was just me having a joke around, they WERE NOT OFENSIVE. I don't have the luxury of removing posts from my threads that I don't like. Maybe that's a perk of being a mod.

Yes, it is bad to post jokes on serious threads...

But I think the point Mike is making is, it happens to all our threads, but we don't have the luxury of being able to delete or edit what others may post in our 'serious' threads, and it may look as admin priviliges if moderators do it to their own, the same as making things we're trying to sell a 'Sticky' in the forums.

Personally I think the mods on here do a pretty good job of keeping the site safe and free from spam, and I'm sure we might all be tempted to tinker with posts sometimes if we had the power.

The only critisism I would have is when something is said about or to some mods, it is often taken out of context and they get shirty about it, understandable with Noobies that jump on the 'insult' band wagon when they don't know you, but not with people who are long time members, for example, earlier in this thread Gav made a jokey remark and Age got a bit funny about it in his reply... Now, I've personally traded insults with a couple mods on here that can give as good as they get and rip the crap outta ya right back, very funnily so too... So, maybe longer serving members should get away with a little more than Noobies, and this could be (and probably is) considered when editing posts.

On closing I would like to say... Welcome back Jim...
