Then I hear other comments this week and I put the post up. You may have noticed I'm not one to hide away from asking dificult questions.

Then Blimey puts his post up. No idea what he is on about but he knows something. Up to him whether he wants to bring it out or keep it quiet. I dont really care tbh.

Now Dave has admitted that it may have been possible for admin to have read my posts. Fair play to him for admitting it. Now I will personally speak to the peeps whos names have been mentioned to me when I next see them. End of story from me unless I get a public apology. I can read people like books and know when someone is lying. Up to them if they wanna take the chance of me giving them crap.

As for slagging of Dave in posts. Whoever done that is a spineless git.
Tom I know to well that you say what you think and you also know I am not affraid to appologise whan I am in the wrong.

fair play to you tom for saying what you think

dave, surely a PM stands for private mail so anything in there is said for private reasons so im a bit confussed by your reason/arguement that they'd become a bit too private, please explain ???

was it too private of webber to pm me his mobile number so the whole site didnt see it ??

I can see what everyone means about confidentiality etc. By having the word private in it's title confidentiality should be assumed. Dave has stated that PMs are no longer readable...so there shouldn't be an issue anymore only from past gripes.

When Dave mentions that some PMs may have been too private i think he means the personal content of these PMs and the connotations they may cause for their senders.

A little dicky bird told me about this last year but i guess i kind of dismissed it like many things in my life.

Just like to reiterate that PMs can't be read anymore, so I have no future worries. Though I tend not to use PM to much anyway. I don't like talking to have of you ba5tards in real life let alone by my choosing on here :D I'm just kidding on that one. I love you all...

hate to point out the obvious but if you want to have a confidential conversation about private stuff why not just pick up the phone, or better still go meet someone in person, rather than using a pm system on a public bike forum. right or wrong, I don't think i'd ever assume that a pm system on a website was a secure form of communication if i didn't want anyone reading what i'd written

think i've missed "all" the bad vibes and bitching recently too - where's all that?

it's a shame people are always so quick to jump on the "negative" bandwagon - whether its slating admin or dave or the site in general. sure, theres occasional whines and gripes on here, but in general its one of the frendlier forums on the net, and the people helping keeping the site up and runninng seem to do their best to resolve any issues that may arise. cheers guys keep up the good work.

with respect to people not using the site, or finding it a bit them-and-us - i think you getout of it what you put into it. go to a few pub meets or ride-outs , get to know a few faces and get to see what a good bunch of people use the site. the people that I've met at pub meets, rideouts and recently the track day have all been a really friendly helpful bunch. surely you noticed that when you asked for help with an engine hoist recently tdmwicky, or gandy when you had problems with the goose a while back....;)

Cracking reply there Chris and I am sure Dave and all admin & Mods appreciate your comments.

For me, as I dont really do much on the admin side, as its so bloody technical, I have helped hundreds of peeps out on the site.

This reply has actually given me a good idea, a good and bad points on a site thread.

I am going to start a new thread called GOOD AND BAD and get all admin and mods to list all the things we have to do to keep the site running and see which list is bigger each month.

Members and non members can also add any good or bad points they wish.

I understand where concerns re. privacy are coming from and that it's more the abuse of trust at issue, but think about just what is secure ........

All e-mail service providers have the ability to trace/interogate/view the messages going through their servers.

All internet service providers have the ability to trace who goes to what site via IP addresses.

All mobile phones can be intercepted quite easily.

All wi-fi and blue-tooth signals can easily be intercepted/hacked.

Any content uploaded via internet/server to another server system is open to scrutiny/interogation by the serve owner provider.

The only secure way to discuss is face to face :D
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

I can see what you are saying, I'm also a member of other forums and have had no problem meeting up with them etc, it just seems a bit more strained on here.
I know people were helpful when I was trying to sort the goose and find a bike and believe me I appreciated it.
It just seems funny but I feel more nervous meeting up with you lot for a ride out, than I do meeting up with peeps from the other forums and I cannot quite put my finger on what it is.

I don't think anybody is question the "privateness" of the internet.

More so that if PM's were read, they should not have been discussed casually with anyone else. :)
