f**K IT...

Over the past few weeks I've spoken to quite a few old members and decided (been convinced) I'm too long in the tooth to let a few new (and not so new) people keep me from visiting my favourite site.

It appears several of us so called 'Clique' (40 or so Long term members, from N/devon to Cornwall) feel the same about the same people... We wouldn't have let this happen 6 months ago so why are we letting it happen now?

I've spoken to some new members too, and they feel the same way.

Who are these people forcing out long term members?...

The 'Know it all, Experts' that critisize every post... Fine if you genuinely know what you're taking about, but if not... Please... Shut the F**k up!!!

I'm not gonna get drawn into a 'Who' 'What or 'Why' debate here, so don't expect a response if you ask.

Blimey (Mark), remember this, we were here long before those that are now pi$$ing us off, so get your a$$ back on here too...

being a noob here I havn't seen any clique's or any agressive posters, so I dont really understand where this rant has come from

or am I one of the noobs thats pissing you off?

this is a public foum that invites new members and you have to accept that unless you close the site to new membership the 'vibe' of the place will be changing slightly all the time as new people join.

everybody is entitled to an opinion, you dont have to agree with that opinion but instead of disregarding what someone has said because they appear to be 'know it all experts' why not take their post, disect it and point out the errors of their ways.

does this site have an ignore function, if not have you asked admin for one? that way you wont have to suffer the noobs that annoy you.

I'm not gonna get drawn into a 'Who' 'What or 'Why' debate here, so don't expect a response if you ask.

IMO if your prepared to start a thread about this subject you really should fully explain what this rant is about including links to the offending threads, if someone was spouting a load of crap in the pub would you

a. challenge them with your intelect and whit and show them how dim they are in a grown up debate.

b. walk away because you cant be arsed trying to talk sense to a fool

c. walk away and go whineing to anyone who'll listen out in the beer garden

Can't do 'A'... 'Cause I openly admit I know very little when it comes to bikes...

Possibly 'B' before getting wound up..

'C' never happens 'cause I'm being carted off for smacking someone in the gob, if 'B' doesn't work...

And I said 'New, and Not so New' people were pi$$ing us off, don't get paranoid peeps, this was happening a while before most of the 'Absolute Newbies' joined...

talk about upsetting the apple cart, good to see your back and hopefully bringing blimey back too

got to accept its a public forum and people post what they want when they want and we dont have to reply if we dont want too. just chill and enjoy the banter with those you like to chat to and ignore those that you dont or pm them and talk to them privately to clear the air

I've missed you nick  , was going to send you a text the other day but I lost your number! I'm glad to see your back. Have a word with Blimey and get him back too, tell him sophie misses him.

With regards to know it all 'experts' (I wouldn't be suprised if I come across as one at times :D) , I'll say something I think I have quoted on here before...

"The man with all the knowledge can see both sides to an argument and their merits, the man without all the knowledge merely has an opinion"

I know how you feel matey.
I used to belong to a really big car club that had a huge online forum. I was, at one stage the 12th highest poster with a few under 10,000 posts.
It was a national club and had some right characters of which I would like to think, I was one.
But then the noobs started moving in and lots of the older established members became quiet and the whole thing seemed to change over a period of probably about 2 months.
This would've been 2004ish I spose. I think I've posted about 10 times since then.

Still in contact with a few as there are always a few people you come into contact with that you'll stick with.

As this is a much smaller forum then I reckon you and the other older posters who have left should come back and kick some arses.
Don't do the "i'm not gonna go into who,why and what". Name and shame fella. That goes for Blimey aswell. Seems he was a well respected member too!
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you on experience.

I really dont understand where the feelings expressed in these sort of threads are coming from. What problems are Nick and Blimey on about ?
I just don't see it.

Just because we ride bikes doesn't mean we all get on and have to be best mates with each other. Just live and let live.
