Help! Yamaha TTR 250 Info?

Post by Bladerunner »

I'm about to buy a Yam TTR 250 to muck around on and commute through some rather rural lanes etc to work on, problem is I can't find much information on them. The bike I'm buying is a 1997 model, which I think is a Jap import although I am unsure.

Has anyone out there had one, or do you know where I can get some info on it? The first thing I am after is a noisey can, the standard one on the bike is fine, but it sounds like a muffled fart, and it must really restrict the bike. I have read online that Pro Circuit make a good can for it but I can't a UK supplier.

Any info would be greatly appreciated :D :D

I used to have a TTR250Raid,fantastic bike and great fun, although the metal tank on it made it heavy to pick up every time i fell off (which was quite alot! ) .
My stepdad runs the TTR250 website and he would be happy to answer any questions you have if you want to drop him an e-mail.
He also arranges ride outs of the off road type.

Parts were also easy to ge at CMS in exeter.

:P
