wheel spin thingy bobs???

Hi,

Has any one got/or used one of those wheel spin thingys? they do two types on the busters website (found under - Chain & Sprockets » Tools)

they look like mini rolling roads that are meant to make cleaning and oiling your chain a doddle!

I just wondered if they were any good and if so which one to go for? (one uses rollers the other 4 balls)

Any advice would be great

Was looking at those as well as i don't have a paddock stand for the trumpet yet, i thought they made the job a bit easier than rolling the bike up and down.....

if you have a single axle stand, just pivot the bike up on the sidestand so the back wheel is in the air, and chock up the brake side of the swingarm with the axle stand so the wheel sits off the ground. Pivoting the bike up is easier than it sounds too - stand in front of the sidestand, catch the subframe on the brake disc side and pull against it, so the stand braces itself against the stop (basically pivoting on the front wheel and the sidestand), and the back should lift quite easily.

When I clean things like cruisers that don't have centre stands and you can't get a padock stand on I use a jack. You can put a bit of cloth on it to stop it marking anything. I normaly jack of the exhaust to lift to rear, if level enough or where theres a clamp to stop it slipping. Worth noting make sure you turn the steering to the left so it doesn't turn while the bikes jacked up and shift the position. Some bikes you can't do without taking plastics off first though. As long as you're carefull and sensible it's fine.

I recently bought one of those for use up in kent and I have to say it works great and makes cleaning and lubing the chain alot easier than using the paddock stand. Go for the one with the two rollers.
