ODIHAM trackday 25th August 08

Post by SlowR1der »

Ladies and Gents

to let you know that Odiham Motorcycle Club are holding their Airfield Riding Day on the above date, bank hol Monday. The cost is £55 however i think you will have to join the club as well which would be another £10. By all accounts its a good day and i think they normally have about 100 riders in 3 groups, normal format. The circuit is about 2 miles with and alleged 160mph+ available on the runway straight

If any are interested then let me know and i will see what can be done to get you on it, its about half an hour from Thruxton (junction 5 M3) to give you some idea of the distance.

I joined the club back in March and have done a wheelie school for £95, they were also offering a battlefield trip to France and the club would pay for the crossing and hotel for each person you only needed beer and fuel money :D however this was cancelled cause of lack of interest. (they needed a minimum of 5 i think and could not get it). I believe they are trying to run it again in Sept so if anyone os interested in this either then join up. Oh yeah and they are running an offroad day all kit/bikes provided for £90 in August as well i believe :D

Cheers

Si

Si, is there any way of finding out what the circuit layout is like, website, grid reference for google maps or something?
Cheers

Scotty

I did not go the one in March as i was working (and it snowed as well  ) however i spoke to a couple of the South Coast Bikers that attended Odiham and Llandow and they said it was a really good layout. I can try and make enquiries for you but the Odiham club is not a very active forum so i dont know what kind of response i will get. You could google map the RAF base which i have but that does not show what the circuit layout would be. From what i was told there are quite a few bends thrown in and a hairpin.

Having just checked Google maps on satellite view i believe the circuit is the larger runway and everything South of it

Am unable to cut and paste it over to this site if anyone can do it then please do. :D

I have registered on their forum. They sound like they have a lot of fun activities planned at reasonable prices!

Hmmm.. I didn't realise that it was that close to me... only problem being that it clashes with BSB at Cadwell, and I can get free tickets for that :( oh choices, choices.... :?
