KTM luggage advice

Post by badgerKDD »

Hi all, I'm asking this for my boss/ accomplice as he's just picked up a KTM Duke and wants some advice on luggage options. He's mostly got the bike for fun hooning but want's to visit his brother in Brittany, taking a pillion with him. I wondered if you guys might have any recommendations. He's thinking pillion with rucksack and his gear in a tank bag and it would only be light clothes etc. Cheers anyway!

Hmm KTM Luggage advice - get someone else to take it for you!!!!

Really depends on what model Duke he has & what exhaust. I went to France last year on mine & used the passenger seat with tent & kit bag strapped across the seat - used some cheap ratchet straps from Trago to secure these with bungies then securing waterproofs on top. Also magaged to use magnetic tank bag but strapped to the frame tubes (plastic tank) but had snap together buckles(?) for quick release at fuel up time.

If he's got a newer 690 Duke then he'll be able to use throwovers as underslung exhaust.

It's really a case of pre-planed trial & error - If it's still there by the time you get to Peleen Cross then it'll go anywhere!!

Thanks, I'll pass the first advice on!
Otherwise, as he's taking a pillion, I'll tell him to source a tank bag as its the underseat exhaust system he's got. Many thanks tho!
