diary of how to destroy a DT

Post by fluffybunny »

right today took the baby apart got tank off after a lot of lookin for a screw that evey body told me was there when it was not lol
have found my volt reg now need to test it but think that is the problem as it keeps blowin bulbs and the headlight change brightness depending on the revs , then next on the to do list is to find where the oil is pissin from we think it might be the gear selector but who knows ,by the time i have finished i might have a dt for sale in bits in a boxs lol

don't forget, just before you take something apart, take a couple of pics of it so you can see how it goes back together.

Cause i doubt you wanna fart around taking the engine apart. Screw in a self tapper (screw) to the old seal and pull on that with a pair of pliers to remove the seal. (drain your gearbox oil ffirst) Then clean the shaft etc and put a bit of oil on the new seal and slide it on. Tap it home with suitable blunt object just make sure it goes in evenly.

Well if you lie it on its side you won't have to drain the oil.
