Re: Deposit down! ZXR400 :)
If it's got a dent in the frame I wouldn't touch it as there could be other cracks and twisting/bending. Also I don't think an insurance company would call it a Cat C with frame damage my gixxer had bugger all damage to the frame, just where the crash bungs had bent in, no denting and they called it a cat B because of the frame damage.
To be honest mate and I know it sounds harsh I wouldn't touch that bike. If you are going to get it. Do a check on it.

The text check thing mate or the other one which is more thorough but costs 25 pound. They will be abloe to tell you the history of the bike and what insurance write off it is. Information is taken from insurers, DVLA and police.

I would never buy a bike or car without doing an independant check on it these days, some very clever people can hide some awful problems..........
Re: Deposit down! ZXR400 :)
i think i'll try out the £3 one then! If i do get the bike, and when i've sorted the problem does someone have to come and inspect it or does it just go in for the MOT and it's checked there?

Re: Deposit down! ZXR400 :)
you just have to re-register it with the DVLA if it's not already been done, then take it for an MOT and you're good to go

Re: Deposit down! ZXR400 :)
hpi check it,especially if its on a cat c and you've not viewed it in person. its worth paying out for the full check rather than the cheap text one.
if the frames damaged that badly there could be all sorts of other unseen damage
how much have you agreed to pay for it as well

Re: Deposit down! ZXR400 :)
i've just spoken to the seller. The 'dent' that we can see in the photo is not a dent. It's the light and that's the actual design of the frame! (Although it does look like dent..
) the 'dent' is identical on the otherside. The bike went on it's side at low speed and the frame, engine casing etc was not touched. (c.rash bobbins). All that was dammaged was the corner of the nose cone, brake lever (replaced) throttle (replaced) rear pillion peg (replaced) and end can (replaced) The only dammage left is only cosmetic and nearly all of it is on the side panel. One of these i can get for £25 and spray it to match. The bike was only classed as a 'C' because the insurance company went to Kawasaki and for all of the originally damaged parts (the can,peg and throttle etc) to be replaced by Kawasaki and it came to loads ££££.
