Grey imports have a red sticker and are electronically restricted to 110mph. The obvious mph and kmh clocks. Headlights, UK spec ones have 2 bulbs, whereas, grey imports only have one bulb. Then there is just the point of checking the paperwork.. for instance, if a 1991 ZXR400's paperwork starts from 1997.. gives an idea that its been imported.. those kind of things..

With the VFR400's.. if you pick up an NC24.. you knows its an import, they all were.. with the VFR400 NC30 and RVF400 NC35.. some were UK specs.. but if I can recall they only came in 1 colour scheme..
Only Japanese home market bikes have the speed restriction regardless of engine size Jap home market cars are also restricted to 112mph. On the Kawasakis it is simply a matter of fitting a kilometre converter as the speed restriction is a hall effect sender in the speedo that triggers when the needle reaches the given speed, by fitting a converter the needle never reaches the trigger point. it's thepink wire that runs from the back of the speedo to the ignition unit, do not disconnect the wire just fit a converter or order an Mmax box or Over racing off limiter box to give it full speed.
