week off work and cant ride....bloody alcohol!!!!

Post by Mike Hayward »

Well i'm stuck at home unable to move a great deal and not happy about it!

Seems i managed to crack a rib on sat night after a few too many drinks! dunno what has happened but woke up sunday in mild pain on the left side of my chest nothing too bad at this point, made it throu the hangover, took the bike for a run on the monday felt sore still but could deal with it.
Woke up about 3am tuesday morning in agony after rolling over and feling a pop in my chest then serious pain! tried to sleep on my back but at half 7 the mrs had to help me up, get dressed and get me into the car for what turned out to be 6 hours in derriford A&E!!!
X ray didn't show a full break, various blood tests and heart traces alter the useless, non listening half english speaking doctor decided i may have either a muscur damage, or fracture in a rib.

going by the heavy swelling, the bruise's that appeared on my arms i'm guessing i took a heavy tumble while being drunk and rolling over in bed put strain on the part healed rib.

Gutted as i've taken this week off with the other half to pack for our house move on sunday, was planning a couple trips out on the bike as well and all i can do is hobble around and take loads of co-codamol and diflofenac!!

Never have i experienced pain like this and never wish to again!
