Bye bye License.

Post by DynaMight »

Looks like I'm gonna be banned.

End of Aug, I was going up the dual carriage way from the Services to Rydon Lane (Right to the end and around the long left hander) so it goes from 70 to 40. There were a few cars on the road behind but none ahead so I entered Rydon Lane at my current speed, little did I know there was a mobile cash machine in the Pynes Hill junction. He caught me from 185m away, which is about 5-10m after the end of the slip road. Pulls me over, gives me a ticket.

So last week was the court date, I choose to plead guilty by post and put in a copy of my statement. Websites, cop and legal advice places reckoned it would be 6pts and a fine as it was 29MPH over the speed limit, first time offender etc.... oh no, I got a letter today saying I need to attend the court as they are looking to disqualify me.

Clean license for 9 years means [censored] all, this country is utter shit. In a time where speeders get more jail time than actual murderers. I have no respect for this countries justice system.

I'm sure you'll be ok mate. It'd be way too harsh to ban you for that.

I was caught at 130 in a 70, got a 14 day ban, £500 fine and costs, brief cost me around £500 if I remember correctly, at the time I could chose where I worked so I went over to France for a week and then on to the US as you're only banned from driving in the uk, but that was 6 or 7 years ago now...

Just remember to turn up at 8 or 830 becuase the call everyone for 0900 and if you've got a solicitor they will charge you waiting time.

In the end 2 weeks is better than 6 points as your licence comes back clean afterward but insurance companies will call it a month ban.

It's a pain but in the end no biggy.

Surely to god you wont be banned  … what annoys me is it takes no account as to whether your actions were dangerous or not…..Too many blanket rules, regulations and laws. Too little discretion and common sense. I’m feeling claustrophobic :( .. Come the revolution  …..

just noticed your police comment
