Training - CBT

Post by TLS-Moose »

Anyone able to give personal recommendations for someone who does CBT in the Exeter area :?

 Thanks for the helpful input you two

I should have explained, my darling eldest child hits 16 next month and (lord help us) wishes to be let loose on the roads, hence the request as I too have no idea who does what nowadays.

All I do know is this is turning into a bl**dy expensive birthday

Hi Moose. I used BSW Motorcycle training, Cofton Road, Marsh Barton, Exeter for my CBT & DAS, 4 1/2 years ago now. I found them a bit condescending to be honest, but that's probably because I already had a car and lorry licence and tended to tell them if I thought they were talking b*****k's. I expect they're better with youths that don't answer back, and what can I say they turned out an exceptionally talented rider!
Andy 075544 32993, Honda CB500S. (don't laugh it's faster than my old CG125 :-)) Dropped once, got crash bungs now. I don't suffer from 'insanity', I enjoy every minute of it!

I won't say what the organisation is called for the following reason but there's a CBT/test training place on Topsham Road by the rugby ground. I had 2 evenings with him and he got me through my test with one minor. Very cheap, one man business, does CBT for £100, a guy from work went to him last week to renew his CBT and he said "right, I'm very busy today, so we can do this the easy way and you right me a cheque for £100 and I'll right you a certificate now and go home..."   he was back home 10 minutes later .. Probably not a benefit though if you havent been riding already and are new to the road but if you cant be bothered with th 'T' part of CBT then he's your man!. Other than him, I hear Triumph are pretty good down in Marsh Barton. Apparently they're linked with Pro Rider in Newton Abbot somehow who are also good (where I did mne).

Triumph can also arrange to have 'dodgy sized number plates' made for you for your 'show bikes' if you ask

Pro-rider = too far - don't want to have to trailer the bike all the way down to Newton, really :?

Anyone heard of Rob Reed, he seems top operate from a few places, including Westpoint, which is nice and handy :?
