If I have to explain, you'll NEVER understand
Re: Cars
Mini's still a great car for anyone as long as you are prepared to keep on top of the rust issue.Mini_Beth wrote:ahhhh you see you need a mini fairly cheap to run (however insurance is very varied) but most definately lots of fun! granted not the fastest car in the world but many people have done engine conversions putting red tops, vtecs and bike engines in them! plus you have the advantage over everyone at cornersabsolutely love them!
im very much into my cars (cos ive had the opportunity to drive a wide range of different ones) more than my bikes but im sure that will change as I've only been riding for 3months
My lottery winning garage will include an Integra VTEC engined 1275GT with a full Webasto one day.

Re: Cars
There's a thought, if you don't want boring look on eBay for something with 4 wheels and a Hayabusa engine perhaps
I've seen some mean looking fiat 500's and little honda vans etc on YouTube. Generally they don't have a reverse gear though,
and I wouldn't have a clue about insurance?
Andy 075544 32993, Honda CB500S. (don't laugh it's faster than my old CG125 :-)) Dropped once, got crash bungs now. I don't suffer from 'insanity', I enjoy every minute of it!

Lmao. Bearing in mind im 19 lisence held 2 weeks.
Saxo's and all other hatchbacks are just way to chavvy and higher insurance groups while no more powerfull, lighter though than my megane which is only group 5.
I'm on a massive saving spree at the moment to buy another bike. 2 months max. Would like to still have a car though it is damm practical even if I am the worlds most underpaid taxi driver now.

Re: Cars
I stopped riding a decade ago after three years non stop, through the winters - that put me off, until now as I forgot...
Whenever it rains or whenever I need to do my weekly asda shop I want a car. Getting me leathers on and then being on social situations with non bikers is a pain in the a55 also, and how hot has it been?! I've melted!
BUT I'd have a bike over a car any day - Though the moral of this essay is to say, my old skool Ford XR2s were brillaint for everything, cheap to insure being 'classic' now, cheap to run, quick, relaible and I never went anywhere without somebody wanting to tell me how ace my car was.
I will have my cake and eat it, XR2 for winter - bike for summer if I ever get a job again
Yes your first mistake was buying a bit of french engineering, you want a nice old Dagenham dusbin!

Re: Cars
well i have had minis, mk1 escort, fiat strada 85 , sunbeam hatchback ,3x vw golf , vw passatt, 2x seat toledo now on 3rd seat leon diesel, Mk1 leon 110 was most likley the best car i owned, mk2 105 i have now is ok, favourite must have been the Fiat strada apart from the rot 1500 lancia engine, DCD weber went like hell, handled pretty good as well considering the weird suspension setup, I have driven jags, Saabs ,fiestas, modern fords. and the favourite ever was the leon 20v turbo 180 i had for a day while they serviced my car
