Re: wrist ache
I used to get the same, but i ride a vfr800 which is a bit more upright position than an r 6,but i am getting on a bit!!
I was told to relax my arms and grip the tank with my knees,it does work, and ive now got gel grips on which have made a big improvement too!
Hope this helps.

Re: wrist ache
Grip the tank yes, but also keep your arms nice and relaxed and not 'rigid' - pushing on pegs helps too imo
If I have to explain, you'll NEVER understand

Re: wrist ache
I got the same problem on my old sv but now I'm on my new bike and mire relaxed it's no where near as bad
I'm the one your mother's warned you about
Re: wrist ache
yeh i had a bad wrist ache after my first couple of rides on the r6 when i got it.. as Smiler said, try to relax while holding the handle bars and try to put most of your body weight on the pegs & not on your wrists!
Keep the shiny side up, and the rubber down!

Re: wrist ache

Re: wrist ache
Try rotating the levers round the clipons a bit Further that way you won't have your hands bent at such a steep angle.

Re: wrist ache
When you're new to biking it does happen as the writs etc aren't used to it. Just exercise them more... how you do that is up to you

Re: wrist ache
Ride everywhere at 80mph+, and the wind resistance will support your head & upper body, thus relieving your wrists from all that support!
Re: wrist ache
A great ( and cheap ) exercise for strengthening your wrists and improving mobility is to get a short length bar or piece of wood ( broom handle ) and attach a length of cord with a weight on it. You then stand up with your arms out in front holding the bar - you then wind the bar one way swapping hands to raise the weight then wind back the other way to lower the weight.
Powerballs have also dropped in price now, you can get them on ebay for under a tenner - A little gimicky but they are surprisingly good.
Or you could get in the gym and do some proper free weight workouts.
