Well Hello there

Post by BMF »

Hi,
I've just registered today. I am in Dawlish, been here for about 18 years, divorced and remarried in 1999. I've had a driving licence since 1976 and always fancied doing my bike test when I was a kid but my old man always said "No boy, you need a car around ya! 'Cos if you have an accident it won't hurt as much", so I left it, Thanks Dad! In October 2002 I did a Direct Access course with Abbotts Motorcycles in Newton Abbot and passed first time so I've now been riding for nearly 15 years.
My first bike was a new 52 plate Honda Hornet 600, at first it was a bit hairy until I got the hang of it. I had the Hornet for just on 5 years when I px'd it for a new 57 plate CB1300sa8 and just as I was getting used to it some muppet tried to drive over it while it was parked up. The insurance eventually paid out for a new 58 plate model which I still have and I love it.....I don't wash it...... but I love it. It's got about 28,500 miles on it and I get around 37mpg from it.

Well that's enough from me, I'm gonna go and do some lurking around the forum to see whats what. 8)

Thanks for the welcome.

The bike sometimes feels like a beast and it does still surprise me on occasion, but it's manageable.
I'd like to go on a ride out sometime if SWMBO allows :|

I've not done much to it at all except for a Remus Revolution end can with the baffle out from new, a rear hugger, angled tyre valves and dual tone electric horns, Oh and heated grips 8)
