As one of the smaller Circuits in the UK, Llandow offers a unique opportunity for Novice riders to gain confidence in a safe environment. With our Chief Marshal John, a keen biker who enjoys sharing his knowledge, you will be in safe hands.

First timers and less experienced riders are placed into separate groups of only 16 riders with either our Instructor or an experienced team leader.

All participants MUST bring a valid A or A2 motorcycle licence
A2 licence holders can only participate in the Novice group and must also bring with them their bike restriction certificate.

Riders are led around the track by team leaders who are responsible for setting the pace and showing riders “The racing line “

Only 3 Groups – Usually 1 Novice, 1 Intermediate and 1 Advance Group in 15 min sessions throughout the day. So plenty of track time for everyone. Please note, A2 Licence holders are only permitted to ride in the Novice group.

Separate groups allow for intermediate riders and advance riders to enjoy some technically challenging corners in a controlled environment.

On site paramedics, who are very experienced. In the event of an accident, our strict safety procedure means that you have medical professionals to hand – should the worst happen !

All participants are given a full safety briefing and our Chief Marshal is available for advice and guidance throughout the day.

A maximum of 17 bikes led by team leaders on the circuit at any one time, divided into groups according to ability.

The itinerary of our bike trackdays are:
8.30am Gates open - we try to get them open earlier than this
9.10am Signing on
9.30am Circuit Safety Briefing (will be announced over tannoy system)
10.00am – 5.00pm Track activities
1.00pm – 2.00pm Lunch break
3.15 – 3.30 pm Afternoon break

All bikes will be filtered on to the circuit from the start area and a chequered flag displayed from the control tower will signify the end of the 15-minute sessions.

Noise Limitation
In consideration to the local community, we operate a self imposed noise limit of 105db absolute maximum.

It would seem I’m in trouble the starter motor on my bike is louder then 105db. Once it is running even Zeus is quieter then my bike. Think I better bring a super baffle :-ss

Quick question. In the past I have masking taped up all lights and indicators as I always thought it was a requirement. However not seeing it as a requirement or a recommendation. Is it needed or can you just fold in your wing mirrors and go?

No requirement for tape. Just take off anything you don't want to break and ride.

All they ask you to do is fold in your mirrors or remove them.

Some people also cover the speedometer.

There is also some thinking about what happens in the event of a crash....

If you’ve smashed up those mirrors or headlight etc, that takes quite a while to clear up - eats into track time of others (you’ll be popular!) and any debris on a circuit has potential to be dangerous (you’ll be even more popular !!!!) 😂

Takes 5 mins to take off most mirrors, or lecky tape is dirt cheap and easy to remove 😉👍

I would like it to be made a requirement that all mirrors be taken off for the following reason.

Not all of us going to llandow are regulars to track day events and either use our bikes for Sunday rides or as daily commuters. This means we use our mirrors a lot. Changing direction or line on a track is not the same as the road, there us no need to check mirror, indicate, check mirror, life saver then move.

This happened on Sunday at pembrey right in the entrance to the new 90 degree corner, a rider in the novice group checked his mirrors and carried out a life saver before cornering, to his surprise there was another rider behind him, he panicked and hit the brakes and ran straight on to the grass (kept it up right) how ever the rider behind him had to use more brake and the front washed out on him causing significant damage to one side of his bike and an injury to his left arm.

Simple answer is to remove the temptation of looking behind you as what's coming up in front is more important and the rider behind you will overtake you in a safer position (well that's the plan) plus make sure you are in the right group for your ability, plus on the day there are experienced riders who lead the group's and are more than happy to help you out on the day, I have booked a few sessions with Gee in inters to help me learn the track, braking points, tip in points and exits. We are not motogp rider's, be the bigger person and admit if you need help as this will save you having to pick the bike up and put the pieces back in the van.

I personally cover my Speedo, as I used to find myself looking at it and panicking as I would convince myself I'm not going to be able to stop for the corner. Once I covered it I found myself focusing on what's up ahead and looking through the corner more and being able to judge my brake points and corner speed a lot better.

Only worry about what's in front, what's behind is behind.

It will feel a little strange for the first session but after that you'll be well away.
