Have you noticed that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster is a maniac ?

A ta from me too Mr Mellow.
At the moment, the long range forecast says decent weather for the first one on the 23rd May so if the Fut's willing and able I'll think about taking a trundle there. Weather permitting I'll leave Ottery around 5.30-ish; is anybody else up for it?

Don't count on it. I fitted the rubber bands!

Working nights but could go straight to site after. As long as I don't get fuzzy night head. I should be able to make it :-)

Got a big weekend of rideouts for the old Fut to cope with Brian, so will make a decision on Henstridge on Sunday or Monday p.m.

As the Bishop said to the actress - 'bit of a last minute pull-out on this one I'm afraid'.
As Messrs Hagon Esq haven't deigned to honour me with delivery of the rear shock I ordered two weeks ago, and as my spine is still in knots from last weekend's two rideouts on a Fut that had the comfort and handling of a hardtail Hardly Ableson, it's staying firmly corralled in it's pen. And so am I.

Equally last minute, but I'm in for tonight. Supposed to be thunder storms tonight by 7:00 pm but I can't see it so I'm off to have a look.

I tool a trip there Last year, like you said, a Bike meet with a difference. There aren't many meets that give you a live band and an opportunity to drag race

I'm afraid to say that on reflection I'm not that sold on it. I hardly went at all last year and didn't miss it. I went last night but couldn't get into it and only stayed an hour. Once I've seen half a dozen runs I'm about done really.
The best part of a drag race is getting off the line and the first three gears but you can't get near the start point at Henstridge. Most people are only seeing the throttling off stage. I'm afraid I find that a bit boring.

Its a great idea for a meet but for me there needs to be more going on than standing 70 yards away from a strip watching ordinary road bikes in run-what-you-brung. The trouble is the surface of the runway is far too poor and the shutdown area too short to run anything properly quick.
And what's all this revving the nuts off your engine and holding the throttle against the rev limiter while you're waiting at the start gate? I can just about see the point of quick burnout on the start line but how is sitting there bouncing your valves going to help?

Its OK but I think they should do fewer of them and have more attractions there.
