recommendations please

Post by julesh »

any advice on a reliable, trustworthy, knowledgable mechanic in the South West, preferably someone who has experience of track/race bikes, is a suspension guru etc etc, I have used a well known company in Keynsham up until now but have never truly been happy with the service or advice given, after a recent issue at Cadwell I dropped the bike off at PCR in Cannock, he was quite astonished at some of the things that had been given the "that'll do" treatment, i'm really happy with PCR but its a 320 mile round trip every time I need something done or looked at, ideally looking for somewhere closer to home.
suggestions please

I had my suspension set up by a well known company in Keynsham. [Censored] rock hard and handled worse than before.

There are a couple of people I use for the stuff I cant do.

I know Simon aka billynomates on here has done reactive suspension courses and is able to do stuff.

Hel have a suspension guy call Steve also.

For mechanical stuff beyond me (or I just cant be bothered to do it myself which is more the case) I use Paul at h+m motors in cullompton.
Ex racer himself and quite particular which is ideal.

Wouldn't happen to have a 3 letter name similar to HJS by any chance. Try around the corner from them at Unity Rd motorcycles. One guy there is a former bsb mechanic. Have a dyno set up and shit hot with suspension.

Neil Pearson near Wellington.
Has a guy in superstock 1000 and junior supersport 300 this year and supersport 600 last year.

Does a lot of engine building. Suspension expert. Dyno on site.
Tells you how it is, wont rip you off, will be a fraction of what someone else charged you I’m sure. Everything you’re looking for.
Can’t recommend him enough.

I tend to leave my bike with him, he does what it needs and I pick it up when it’s ready.
