Thanks for an awesome ride Brian. Got a bit tired towards the end and peeled off at Wheddon Cross to head back home to Taunton. Excellent route. Well thought out!

Re: 11th August
Good to see some new guys out today. Excellent route as we've come to expect from Brian. He was riding like Marquez on slick tyres at the end.
Nice to have a few water splashes..... that were a foot deep! Rode through the mother of all storms on the way home to find that Torquay had NO rain all day.
So I still had to mow the lawn

Re: 11th August
Great day, hats off to Brian for a well thought out ride. Don’t often ride in the rain and yes I know that’s because I’m a southern softy but can’t help that. Thanks everyone who asked after Wendy. She’s looking forward to going everyone again.
Honda CB1000 GT (on order), Honda CB1000r, Aprilia Tuono V4R for the track, Yamaha RD250E,

Nice to get out with all again.
As Ming said, nice to see some new faces as well as the familiar ones.
Just got one snap from the day.

At that point we'd had a couple of light showers but nothing serious and many of us thought the worse was over now... how wrong we were.
Many thanks to Brian for planning & leading the run and to Nick (and Jolie) for TEC duties.

Re: 11th August
Great ride this morning Brian. Bit rain ruined this afternoon though. Great routes and awesome company. Thanks for organising it, and well done everyone for great and patient junction marking... disintegrated once we arrived back at Tivvy though... Hope everyone is home safe and sound and dried out...
Don't care who you are, how much you have, how powerful you are. You still sit on the toilet with your pants around your ankles. Yep, it's a level playing field..

A big
to Brian for calling, planning and leading (mostly
) this ride - and two
to Nick & Jolie (LOVED your tailor-made jacket Jolie
) for TEC-ing.
Great also to meet some new faces as well as the all the usual suspects
.
The Met' Office Michael Fishes' got it right and we had the predicted precipitation in mid Devon . . . . . . . and north Devon
. . . . . . . . . and mid Devon again
. And, as I discovered when starting to dry out approaching home, east Devon too
All that wet certainly concentrates the mind folks, I reckon the ride was the better for it
- and twas fun watching our glorious leader keeping it (mostly) upright through the worn out patchwork quilt of oiled steel masquarading as tarmac that is the A396 Exe Valley road from Wheddon Cross south to Tivvy.
Hope to see some or all of you on the next one - if me bike and gear ever dry out

Cheers Brian, enjoyed the morning ride. Peeled off and went back to Bridge for a quick coffee before home hoping to beat the rain but pissed down once in Exeter. Dry and sunny at home though so bike all washed and put to bed till next time.
Good to see everyone again, catch you soon

Thanks y'all for coming out to play
makes doing these ride outs so worthwhile
And next time when I check the bike for a ride I'll actually look at my rear tyre tread, not just glance at it, maybe then not hold everyone up with my sphincter twitching in the wet
Remember folks, our next one's are Ming's next Saturday (sorry I have to miss this one)
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=99925
and "Phil's extravaganza" ride on Sep 1st

Re: 11th August
Fabulous ride Brian. By the time I arrived home, 320 miles had passed by the bandit. Even the rain was interesting, and most of us probably had a few slippy moments. All part of the fun.
Re: 11th August
Thankfully I managed to stay dry on the way home from Tivy.
I looked at the sky and saw that the rain was travelling along my normal route home so I went north east instead, towards Wellington and over the back into Chard. I'd dried off considerably by the time I got in.
I'll drag the bike in a little while and start the cleaning process, should be finished by the weekend.
