As much as I am really not a fan of key board warriors it’s got to be said Mr Lorenzo does have a point.

JL99 has a bit of a point, but he didn't prepare for the Portimao test last year and was embarrassingly off-the-pace, hence an unimpressed Yamaha promptly dropping him. He WAS an awesome rider in his day, but sour grapes are distorting his judgement and reducing the chances of anyone else giving him a paying job in the pitlane.
He had his chance and blew it. Cal has shown restraint in not pointing out that during his year with Repsol Honda, the #1 team in the paddock, Jorge never once finished in the top 10, and I recall watching him dicing for 15th place with Hafiz Syarin on the Tech3 KTM at Silverstone - and getting beaten! He'd fallen a long way since trading outright lap records in Qualifying with MM93 at the same circuit in 2013.... Sad to see really, but everything has to finish one day.

During the build-up to today’s Doha MotoGP race it was interesting to hear Maverick Viñales praise Cal Crutchlow’s testing input, saying that it benefited him (MV12) to have a test rider with a similar style to his own. Sure, Jorge Lorenzo won many more GPs than Cal did, but he had a very unique style that nobody else could emulate, and as such his input would be of limited value. It would be comparable to Honda using Marc Márquez as a test rider - he’s head and shoulders above everyone else on the grid, but it would lead to the Honda being more of what it is now basically; a bike that only MM93 can make the most of.

Who’s going to win today then, will Maverick repeat last week’s dominance, or will Joan Mir or one of the Ducatis (Pecco, Jack, Zarco, or amazing rookie pole-sitter Jorge Martin) prevail?

I would put my money on Mir winning this week, i haven't watched qualy yet but recken he will start better and not make the same last corner mistake. But it's a bit of a lottery.

Weather conditions may well have a say. My own (Brit) interest is in Moto2 and willing Sam Lowes on to another win, or at least a podium.

I think Zarco will either win or throw it at the scenery. My money's on Vinales again

All three races were epics, the main class was entertaining right to the end, but best of all was Moto3; the main group indulged in the usual argy-bargy while the bunch of seven bad boys penalised with a pit-lane start hunted them down. I won't spoil it, but the next superstar, and eventual successor to Marc Márquez announced his arrival....

Watching the highlights and yes, the moto3 was an amazing race .... And then my mind goes off on a tangent - why, in the set piece to camera, is the commentator wearing a face mask? Surely they can position the camera 2m+ from him? I don't feel the need to wear a mask during teams/zoom meetings (others might wish it so  ), other live TV presenters don't need one, so why does the commentator need one? Strange .....

I presume you were watching the MotoGP feed then Moose? Fortunately the BTSport presenters do a far better job of commentary and don't mess about with unnecessary face masks....

Although Suzie looks like she's wearing one these days.

Such a shame.

Such a shame.
Indeed.... Can anyone name a single woman whose appearance has been improved by Botox? When someone like Suzi is genetically blessed in the first place, just accept ageing and look classy in later years. Nobody will naturally look 20 when in their 50s, and they're not expected to. :-s
