Wiscombe Park Hillclimb 2022 Season

Post by Riviera Guy »

The National Hill Climb Association (NHCA) calendar is now out, and you can see the South West’s fastest riders at six Wiscombe Park meetings this season. At the first five meetings, they will be competing alongside the cars.

This all culminates in the Wiscombe Park, 2 and 3 wheel, season finale, The Arnold Gimblett Speed Hillclimb – the bikes, sidecars and trikes have exclusive billing.

The dates for your diary are:

7th May 500 Owners Association

14th May Torbay MC

15th May Wildlife Autosport Hillclimb

3rd September Five Clubs

4th September Five Clubs

11th September The Arnold Gimblett Speed Hillclimb

Wiscombe Park is a 1000 yard tarmac course, 12 feet wide, three hairpins, a section of "S" bends and two long straights, with an average gradient of 1 in 14 (1 in 7 on the steepest hairpin, Martini). It is considered one of the most challenging hillclimb course in the UK - therefore a riders favourite. These riders are fearless – no “run off” areas at Wiscombe Park - come and see for yourself! There's no mention of Hartland Quay in that NHCA list. What happened there? There used to be two motorcycle Hill Climbs a year at Hartlad Quay, the first and last of the season usualy and they were always hugely popular with both riders and spectators. It's a spectacular location and genuinely hard work for the riders, especialy the outfits - take my word for it  !
