Ok, what's the plan on the Friday 16th? are we all leaving early doors to meet up or are we all getting there when we get there?

Think it's a mixture of both. Personally I'm taking the early doors option. I'm not interested in joining the car park which is the M5 norm later in the a.m.
Herr P will no doubt have a plan to put forward later.

I seem to remember Herr P stating that for this year he was going to arrange a scenic (non-motorway) route up/over.
Last year Roy & I made a day of it getting there, and only used the motorway to cross the channel.

No need for an early start either. I think we left Chard at 10:00 and got the B&B for about 17:00, which as it happened turned out to be best riding weather of the weekend. Heat wave on Friday, cold & wet on Saturday..

I've thought of going round the houses to avoid the motorway but my preference is for a very early start. I'll be at jcn27 services at 06.30. Up M5 before the traffic so no filtering necessary. Drop gear at Neuadd. Friday bimble from there as well as the main event Saturday.

Possible Friday ride after getting to the Neuadd:-

Sounds good to me. I'll tweak the route a little and then maybe this time I might actually stay on it. :)):

The route will be similar to last time but I'm going to try and miss some of the towns, might even go via Shepton instead.

You could go east of Bath and avoid the dreadful Bristol ring road.
