I don't think 20 mins is enough, not with the pee breaks group A are going to need. :)):

Ah, but you haven't factored in my complete lack of navigational prowess, as Nick and Duncan can confirm.

I'll be sat nav'd up so we should be able to find our way back to tarmac quickly.

Is this route fixed now?
If so could you post an image of it please as this one is getting screwed up when I view that link. If I could just see an overview I should be able to work out where you intended it to go as this section makes no sense to me.

Sunday to Chepstow should be:-
https://goo.gl/maps/fVwZRYfVTt8JB22X8

That bit is - Madley. B4352 to Clehonger. B4349 past Kingstone to Vowchurch. B4347 to Pontrillas.
From the B4233 in to Monmouth left on to A40 to turn round at the Dixton Rd roundabout to come back along the A40 for the left turn for the A466 to Chepstow.
Bear in mind this route is guidance only. You know me and my ability to find "alternative" ways from A to B

I guarantee 6 satnavs all with the same route will give the riders different directions at some point. I've been on tour with 3 guys all with Garmin 550's and the route was loaded from a memory card, so they should all be the same.
Unfortunately not. You end up in the same place, just via a different way.

Here is a link to the routes for Saturday and Sunday.

https://app.box.com/s/vk33qf80sd47y2tvumw0n43u57r0x25m

They are available as a route plan (for Garmin devices) or as a Track (which can be imported to most devices).

There is a way to stop that happening. You can tell the GPS that it is not allowed to recalculate the route.
Unfortunately Garmin's aren't good at accepting shared routes (my Montana isn't anyway). I have to actually re-draw the route on Basecamp with the exact map as is on my Montana before sending it, and only then will it accept it and follow it. If it detects any difference it'll refuse to load the route so I have to use a "track" instead.

So if "route" fails you just load the "track" and then follow that. It's not as good as a "route" as there will just be a line on the map and it's up to you to stay on it, but at least you will stay on the same roads as the group.

I also run an Android phone with OSMand on it and that is brilliant. Just send a gpx "track" to it and it'll adopt it without changing it, and then give you full guidance. If it wasn't for the awesome sunlight friendly screen on the Montana I'd just use my phone as my main touring sat nav.

And with me leading we're unlikely to stay on the planned route in any case =:)

I know I'm not coming with you, but I can recommend the B4521 whilst you're around that way.

It looks to be about 19 miles long, running from Abergavenny to meet the A49 east of Ross On Wye. It also seems to run either through, or close by, quite a few villages - according to my AA road map anyway.

Maybe, but it's also been a recommended road on a Porsche 911 forum, so I'm guessing it's going to be just as good on a bike
