Very good of Mike to mention it but I'm not doing that road any time this trip.

BTW Friday, me Phil and Darren will be stopping for breakfast at Morris's cafe, Usk garden centre. (Google says they're closed but I know they're not)
old and disgraceful so doing what I can while I can before I can't

Roy & I are tagging along with Phil & Wendy and their route goes over the top of that area.

Not sure how quickly he'll get back to you on this as he's busy working but I have redrawn his original calimoto route to correct for a few odd choices it made on the way up.
If Phil did want to investigate that road then I'm happy to adjust the route again to include it.

Don't care who you are, how much you have, how powerful you are. You still sit on the toilet with your pants around your ankles. Yep, it's a level playing field..

Roy and I are leaving Chard around 9:45 and expecting to be at Lydford for 10:15, which is when Phil & Wendy should be getting there.

To beat what is the usual the M5 northbound car park on a Friday, Brian, Darren and I are leaving Waterloo Cross Services (junction 27 M5) at 0630 a.m. Mooching up to the One-Stop store at the edge of Chepstow, ten minute-ish leg stretch then on to Usk for breakfast.

I'm meeting up with the whippersnapper Phil and Wendy, around where they crossover the m4.

Ta.

Interesting how you set up the GPX file. I normally use Way points. Yours only has 3 but a lot of Points. This what it looks like on your Base camp for Sats ride?

Yes, that looks right to me.

The way points are the planned stops, just a prompt really and not used to shape the route.

I drew it on Basecamp using the route tool.
I just click along the intended path and if it deviates I just undo that last point and redo it closer to the last. I then use the mouse scroll wheel (zoom) to move the map without changing tools, which would end the route. The map I used is City Navigator Europe NTU 2024.1

If you have the same map and also tell your Garmin that it cannot re-calculate the route then it might adopt and follow that route without changing it, or it might reject it. Alternatively just use the track and follow that instead.
