THURSDAY 8th February - POSTPONED

Post by ptolemyx »

Shell petrol Wellington TA21 9AD
10.00 for 10.15

Aim is to be stopping at Ruby Red Cafe near Thorverton and Jonesy's Cafe. Ending at Bridge M'cycles Exeter. Might add a first coffee stop at West Bay.

Winter rules apply - subject to weather, pace according to conditions i.e. as brisk as reasonable and not ace-racering on crappy roads.....

I'll be up for this I think. Will probably opt to meet the mob in the lay-by at Max's Cabin, where the A303 meets the A30 at the start of Yarcombe bends - EX14 9NE: I'll be there from 1035 hrs. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Max ... ?entry=ttu
Just an idea - instead of a coffee at West Bay (and then having to suffer miles of effin' A35 to Axminster), consider a stop at Chris's Cafe in Seaton Harbour (where they have the bike nights) - EX12 4AA. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Chr ... ?entry=ttu

Good call Phil. I honestly don't rate West Bay much.

At the mo' weather forecast is iffy  I'll keep an eye on it to see if it improves....

If I pull the plug for Thursday will post the route (amended to include Seaton harbour cafe) again later in the month.

Yep, Thursday 8th is looking decidedly dodgy weather wise.
Sunday 11th looks fine so far, so I might venture forth then.

It's still looking good around my patch for the 11th so at the moment I'm still planning on giving the Triumph an airing.

Can't do Thursday I'm afraid couple of family things going on. The temps at the weekend are due to plummet over most of the SW. ❄️

Well if Phil and Phil can't come out to play and the weather forecasts now agree heavy rain for tomorrow (at least up here) I'm postponing until better weather, probably Sunday 25th or Sunday 3rd March.

This Thursday's out for me chaps, it's looking far too damp and the roads'll be 'orrible.

However, the forecast for Sunday 11th is forecast to be a lot better, so I might well sally forth on a good roads bimble. If so, I'll post it up on a new thread; probably Friday a.m. when I'll have a better idea of weather.

Nope, Sunday the 11th is now looking like carp too, at least in the a.m. - any 'sallying forth' is on hold until the current carp weather improves.
