98 vtr firestorm electric issue

Post by Bobby98vtr »

After some help i had a low side spill, the engine still turns over but i have lost the electrics (headlights, turn signals, horn, odometer) etc ive checked the fuses they are all intact the battery has 12.5v starter still works havent tried starting yet as i have the engine in bits as the side casing took the brunt of the slide and it chucked its oil over the road. any help would be much appreciated.

check the multiplug that links the main loom to the cluster loom, if that has come apart or is damaged then you'll have issues. after a low-side on the road it's worth checking all your plugs as the impact can loosen all sorts.
once you've got the engine back operational and running you'll have a better electrical supply and be able to fault find with.

you say it's turning over, did it catch and fire up too?

I haven't tried going far enough to fire up due to no oil in engine but going to concentrate on getting engine back together then push on the electrics issue, will update once engine back together, thanks for your advice will take it on board and look at the connections next
