Maybe worth a phonecall to White Dalton specialistd in motorcycle accidents and see what you are entitled to. The phonecall costs nothing.

Re: 4th Dimension etc
Just catching up on this Ming and sorry hear about the accident. You have made the correct choice to look at other options. 4th Dimension are fantastic a writing off motorbike and if they do repair them then they will take for ever so they can charge lots of storage charges and will make sure that there bill to your insurance company is maxed out as much as possible.
I can only advise that you avoid them like the plague unless your looking to get your bike written off. If you are then they are perfect and you will be very happy with there service (as Jay has experienced) as they are very professional at doing that. If you want to keep your bike avoid like the absolute plague.

Re: 4th Dimension etc
I can't imagine even 4th Dimension would be able to write mine off. It's cosmetic stuff like engine case, bar end, and the fork bottom and swing arm are marked. Whether they have to be replaced or can be touched up I don't yet know, as it hasn't been collected yet. I'll ring tomorrow for an update

When mine went to them the bike was worth £9,000 and the only things that were wrong was a damaged indicator a very small scratch on the end can and the plastic that surrounds then end of the end can was damaged. I had it priced at BMW main dealer and they could fix it for £250 and like and idiot I let 4th dimension take it away.
The final bill from them was £7500. the only reason they did not right it off was because i refused to accept a hire bike (which would have pushed the cost over the £9k and when they called me saying the y found a mark on the seat and they wanted to replace it I told them not to. the main cost was the privilege of having my bike stored in there facility for 6 months whilst they were "waiting parts" at a cost of close to £100 per day storage, hell it cost more then £250 just for them to come and get the bike.
Be under no illusion 4th dimension can write off a bike in a heart beat. Its not about the damage to your bike its about collection, delivery, inspection costs, parts, labour to fit the parts, shipping costs, storage, hire bikes etc etc this list goes on.... then when your bike is written off they make a mint selling it at auction.

Re: 4th Dimension etc
Be very wary about the hire bike sting. You can end up having to pay the hire charge (which could easily run to over a grand) and then suffer the hassle of getting it back from the insurers.
old and disgraceful so doing what I can while I can before I can't

Mcams are picking up the Tracer9 tomorrow as it's too bloody big for my needs. Gliddons collected my bike yesterday and will keep it at their place. McAms were charging - get this - £336 per DAY for the Tracer 9GT hire.
I told them to give me the money and I'd just get a Ferrari for the same

Mixed reviews on google for Mcams.. will be interesting to hear how they perform.
I really don't understand this insurance racket at all.
All these approved 3rd parties making the claims massive in the hope of hurting the other parties insurance company but a lot of the time both parties will have the same underwriter anyway.
I struggle to believe this is all just to drive up insurance premiums as it's not the underwriters that gets the claim money, it's these accident management companies.
The whole shit show need investigating.

Re: 4th Dimension etc
Agreed Jug. They have no motivation to repair quickly at low cost.
Gliddons charging? I found it cheaper to just keep the bike at home until it was fixed.

Our granddaughter was parked in a carpark at Brean a couple of weeks ago, a young lad messing about (as we all did) hit her car wing left all his details ect , her insurance passed it to enterprise who then passed it to vertu who were quite aggressive in there phone calls saying her car was undrivable and were sending a breakdown truck to pick it up and would be charged storage and it's written off ,all without seeing the car , my daughter got involved they told her that she had to go with them to wich she replied that she fleet manager for her job deals with this all the time and that's bullying tactics and suddenly she can get it done at a place of her choice, show they all talk crap just to make money

Re: 4th Dimension etc
Glad I didn't use 4th Dimension the other week based on what's been said. They really were pushy, I nearly had to be rude to get rid of them, but I did end up telling them they had another 30secs, then I said 'bye' and cut them off.
Re: 4th Dimension etc
I'm with Bikesure for one of mine and they are saying I would have to contact 4th Dimension initially and speak to them to see if my preferred dealer was on their approved repairers list.
Renewal time is approaching so I think I'll have to have further discussions with them about the option of using an alternative claims management company.

Re: 4th Dimension etc
Just got off the phone with Bikesure and sadly they/I am locked in to 4th Dimension, so if I did need to claim I'd have to deal with them.
Same is true with Bennetts it seems.. so that's both my KTM's.. fingers crossed I won't need to claim.
Just done a search and google AI is telling me that Bennetts, BeMoto, Bikesure, and Motorcycle Direct use 4th Dimension, as do Hastings Direct and Axa.
I'm also with Express Insurance Services who are a branch of Carol Nash who don't appear to use 4th Dimension... so there's some hope.
