Thanks Lee, that's what I thought, someone once told me that the discs in the back need to be open if there is film in it, to be able to take the photo, but this morning the visor was fogged up so much, I couldn't tell, I'll have a look on the way home.

It's easily done.

I was flashed by a fixed camera here in Plymouth a while back and it was one that I was well aware of too  I didn't receive anything through the post so I guess I was lucky that time.

Hopefully you will be too :)

In the last couple MCN mags, there's been a story about a guy that's about to prove that no speed camera/device has ever been calibrated for bikes.

He worked for the police camera unit, so he should know.

The fines office is shitting itself, 'cause they will be paying back every fine ever made, plus dvla will have to scrap all points on licences.

And if we really push it...all the money for increased insurance premiums due to points?

MCN advice...If you get a ticket through the post, challenge it, doubt you will hear anymore.

sorry to piss on the fire guys but I am 99% sure that gatso cameras only flash when they have a camera in them - if you look at the front of one the bottom right hole will show you if shes loaded or not cos there is either a flash reflector and bulb or there is a black hole. The reason you might get flashed and no ticket is cos the camera still monitors speed but the film is full and cant record a picture of you.

Wish you luck anyway mate f*cking detest the hole money making scam

I once got told a story from me old Sargent Major that these two boys were holding signs up on a round about just before a newly placed speed camera. Aperently people where chucking money to them as they drove past.

As far as i'm aware it is possibly for a camera to flash but for no film to be loaded. Although i could be wrong. Either way srad nick is right that the camera continues to flash even when the films full.

I don't think that proving gatsos aren't calibrated for bikes will make a blind bit of difference to past convictions for 99% of people - at the end of the day they are set up to allow a margine of error and the technology they use does work on bikes and i think they could easily prove that gatsos work reliably on both cars and bikes.

Age is correct that the speeding ticket has to be sent out within 2 weeks, however this does not mean that you have to receive it in 2 weeks.

Boys putting up a sign before a camera sounds great but beware if as an adult you were found to do this or attempt to warn drivers of an approaching camera you could be convicted of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Keep your fingers crossed and pray lots mark but if that doesn't work take comfort in the fact that at least you haven't got 9 points like me :-D
so it turns out.........sometime i do give a f*ck
