Jack up kit

Jack up kit
Just after a bit of advice i have a 600 bandit does anyone no if i was to put a 40mm jack up kit on,would it make the handeling of the bike better?and would it effect the wear of the tyres to?

Yes it would make the bike turn in quicker and i don't think the tyres would wear quicker

if its ground clearence your doin it for, then if your doin that to the rear u must raise the front by pushing the forks through the yokes, that way it should handle the same but give u a little more ground clearence. but if you want it to turn quicker, leave em or drop the front slightly. becareful though, like tom says it can turn a bike into a bucking bronco ride.

Mined you the SVs speedo is apparently optamistic higher up the speeds but my new set-up is far more accurate

To be honnest mate If ya want it to handle better I would suddgest getting your suspension sorted mate.
If you want to do a free handling mod and you want to get the bike to steer quicker then just drop the forks through the yokes by 10mm.
Your main problem with the Bandit is your lack of adjustments on suspension, My mate has a 1200 bandit and he fitted a hyperpro rear shock an progressive front springs, this transformed the bike.

My thougts for what they're worth...
I tend to agree with Age - there's not too much to be gained with a poor OE rear shock, unfortunately a quality one will cost £400+. However, even a Hagon with only combined damping and pre-load adjustment should improve a bandit 6 at a cost of about £250. Remember it'll still be a bandit 6 at the end of the day so you need to watch the costs.
With regard to the front end you don't need to spend too much, you can improve the damping with slightly heavier oil (mix 50/50 to go up half a weight at a time), improve the spring rate with a slightly higher oil level (in 10mm stages to increase the air spring effect) and improve pre-load by dropping in plastic pipe spacers (10 mm then increase length in 5mm stages) .... aahh, takes me back to the old days when I was a la...zzzz..zzz..zzz... ZZZZ... ZZZZ

Thanks for all your help i dont think i shall worry about the jack up kit now, i might try changing oil in forks or drop them through the yokes abit like age suggested, does any one no what the cost for the hyperpro rear shock and progressive front springs would be.the only promblem i have is mainly with a pillion it does not handel as good,so if i can make it better that would be great,solo its not to bad but theres room for inprovement.

best bet with the rear shock would be a hagon. I have one on my triumph and it works just fine. Hagon will rebuild it and even lengthen it if u want them too for £95.
