SWB Weekender

Where does one start, well if you missed this you missed something very special and memorable.

The weather was a little grim as we entered Wales , but we arrived in good time, all in tact which was a big bonus.
The accommodation was nice and dry :^o , was very spacious and had plenty of character, ventilation and a hint of Glastonbury about it. The owners also had character in abundance…..

The Friday Beer Fest started quite early and I must say was well attended, the local ales going down a treat. The venue was also home for the weekend to a large stag party so there was plenty of noise and drinking going on. The odd person could be spotted sporting a red Indian costume / chiefs head dress leaving you wondering just how strong the ale actually was…..

After most people had been killed off we resumed the festivities in next doors salubrious accommodation :ymparty: , where some strange concoctions were being made and consumed, what time most got home or when I guess is still a mystery.! :ymdevil:

Saturday we were up early mostly due to our double glazing malfunctioning, Nick still wondering where he was, maybe who he was….

We staggered up to the pub and managed to acquire a ¾ breakfast with some ease. After Betty had run out of fingers counting breakfast her demeanour changed somewhat for the worst and those that followed us encountered a fate that will remain with them for a long time.

We sat for quite a while afterwards enjoying watching tough bikers squirm while trying to engage in a conversation with her or work out if they had ordered a breakfast. She strutted up and down the pub seemingly ignoring and engagement or attempts at eye contact.
Mr Smiler got his breakfast quite quickly, in fact so quickly they forgot to cook his sausages. :ymsick:

Before venturing out me and Nick enjoyed a luxury shower in the new shower block, quite which bit was new I never worked out and alas to say we never visited there again…… Nicks was luxury cus he apparently had a bar of soap he wanted to share with the next occupant, at which point I made a speedy exit. :-$

Alas the events of the Beer Fest had taken its toll on some, so Saturday they stayed behind to lap up the friendliness and hospitality of the Hollybush Inn.

The ridout was a fab day out and you could not fault the organisation, routes or scenery. The wildlife could of stayed on the grass but did not pose much of an issue providing you shouted mint sauce loud enough. The routes were a nice surprise to both us and on the odd occasion Mr Smiler, bless him, but it all added to a memorable time. Wales has some stunning scenery and bike routes.

In the evening the Smilers organised a bbq, where much competition ensued between adults and children for the biggest flames and most smoke. Again another great evening will all pitching in to help, Chef Ramsey Smiler did a wonderful job and kept us well fed.

Sunday it was decided to go elsewhere for breakfast, following which we returned to the Hollybush to re-group before our departure.

Without question all those that attended were extremely nice people and everyone joined in to make it a super weekend adventure. Many thanks to Mr & Mrs Smiler for their organisation and patience over the weekend, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be the first for my name down next time.

Many thanks indeed. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Damn pesky mountains with big drops at the sides :-s i got close to the hilly side and didn't care if i was on the wrong side of the road... good job it was a open road with good views. Lovely sheep 2. They liked me
