sure, doesn't matter what the bike is as long as at will do the speed limit. A friend of mine is coming along on his 20 year old rg gamma 125.

Colin has already said he will kindly be tail end charlie forr this run.

i am now looking for people to be junction markers

its a simple job, just have to stop at junctions, exits of roundabouts etc so that riders behind you know which way to go next. you don't have to know the full route, just be aware that colin is the last bike thru AT ALL TIMES. when he has gone past you then make your way back up the line of bikes to the front (thats the fun part, just ask nick or bambam) and start the process all over again.

I always think that you should make everybody markers which makes it a lot safer as there is no need at all for overtaking by anyone.

The bike in front leading the pack just rides and every time that you get to a point where there is a change of direction or even just to confirm the correct route then the person following the leader drops off in a safe pointing and indication the direction that everyone should travel he then rejoins in front of the tail end Charlie. Eventually he might get to the front again to repeat the process. The Leader keeps an eye on things and if he wants an additional rider to stop as a marker he can point to mark the spot. The leaders most important point is to make sure that there is someone behind him when a marker is required if he has to wait for a marker to catch up possibly trying to overtake several other bikes then it will slow things down.

Yes, pillions are welcome. I belive cheese monkey was reffering to the job of junction marker and doing all the overtaking etc.

this is all well and good but does rely on everyone on the ride knowing the route and as we will be having alot of newer riders who are not local i can't see that happening although it has been posted up since middle of december. i would be suprised if anyone has commited it to memory. what usually happens is that i lead the run and do the pointing thing to junctions that look like they could do with marking.

The guy in front never changes because as you rightly say you are the only one that really knows the route.

You still do the "pointing" but its who ever is behind you that stops not some group of people that are trying to get back to the front.

This actually helps the newer riders because its then safer as there is no overtaking to be done so less chance of an accident and it takes the pressure slightly off as you know that the person behind is not trying to overtake you
