What were you on Bob?

Mr Moo and I went to Exmouth, it was very Patch biased there. Friendly enough but not sociable. So we downed our cuppas and headed to Willand via the common, West Hill and the road from honiton to Cully.

Again found it quite patch biased there tonight, we left about ten to eight.

I was on my old Guzzi 750T, 1991 in red. It needed a run out as I’m bedding some new pads in on a replacement disk. I had a chat with a couple of blokes, admired a few bikes and had a coffee. When it was down to 4 or 5 bikes I decided it was time to go. Maybe we passed with you leaving as I entered or ??? I’ll try next month and will get there a bit earlier :)

Anyone venturing there tonight (9th)? The weather looks reasonable.

Nice to meet you Bob, and the Guzzi of course. Quite a nice even spread of bikes there tonight I thought, along with the more modern stuff there were three oldies I've not seen since the old King died i.e. a Sunbeam S7, an AJS twin - either a G9 (500 cc) or G11 (650 cc) and an Ariel Colt - a pretty rare little four stroke single, the owner told me it was 197 cc. I only saw two patches and they didn't stay long - lack of safety in numbers perhaps?
Living in Ottery I'm surrounded by bike night venues it seems, at least four are about a nice 16-18 mile bimble from home.

Dang. Forgot about last night
Still, I'll see you all in the glorious weather on this Sunday's ride out that Phil senior - Robbo87 - is about to organise....

Nice to meet you too Robbo. Plenty of interesting adaptations on your 1050, and I hope your regearing/TuneECU session goes well. I think I’ll pop along to the next one if it isn’t hammering down, maybe on my Supermoto. It’s only a short spin out for me, but any excuse eh? :)

The patch club people seem to vary in number and club, and there doesn’t seem to be any animosity either way like there would have been 10-15 years back when I was a MAG Rep. So I think and hope things have changed for the better. Or maybe it’s a SW biker’s thing ? Anyway, not a reason to avoid the meet as far as I can see.

For me it was the Honda 400/4, and the RD400 that were there which had me hankering for a go please mister/missus! Very nice and both very clean and cared for.

Ride safe All, Bob

After asking the question at the Bluebell Café (thanks Brian) at the end of our Blackdown Bimble rideout last Sunday, I can confirm that their bike meets are from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00-ish p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month - next one Tuesday 14th July.
