Firstly, glad you got it back, yes it was bad that it got stolen but at least they didn't torch it.

Secondly, do you do that routine everyday of walking in for a bit? If so i'm not sure if it was oppurtunist and it was actually very well planned, either that or they actually just were looking for a bike to steal.

Im not trying to advertise or anything, but its situations like this where an alarm would have helped. The second the bike was moved off its sidestand or the ignition was tampered with, then the alarm would have triggered. Being outside your house, you would have heard it.

Thats made me think actually! How many of us have performed the same ritual of getting the bike out everytime since we first owned one. I know I'm guilty of it. Makes you think I do have a very sensitive datatool system 3 alram system though qhich would have gone off without a doubt

i dont do any daily routine as my bike is not in the garage atm. But i usally get ready and when im ready to leave take it out and ride it round the area to warm it up. Dont leave it just incase...

least if they are breaking a whole bike you can ask for the bikes details to check it out before buying any bits I guess?
