i did delete the link and then someone deleted the thread - thanks

simon

I removed the thread after billy removed the link.

Without the link it was a worthless thread.

We did get complaints but I stress the thread was removed after Billy removed the link.

I can't remember the last time I had to remove a thread or edit one come to that.

However I don't see anyone thanking us for deleting spammers so as to keep the site upto speed.

Not everyone has the same sense of humour. Something that makes some laugh offends or annoys others. I'm with Chris on this one. Let people know why something has been removed, I'm sure they will understand. No-one on here intentionally writes anything to deliberately offend.

If you want the view of an 'outsider' I actively post on other forums and regularly read through this one. One of the reasons I do not spend more time on this site is that it does appear to be over moderated.

I read simon's posting on two other large international forums and nobody appeared to be bothered, or at least not enough to publicly post, the threads certainly were not locked or deleted.

As previously mentioned most joke/funny stuff on the net can be found offensive to individuals dependant on their background, race, personal circumstances etc.

I am only posting my opinion as I may see things as others veiwing the site do, I don't know any of you so there are no personal axes to grind.

You have the makings of a good site, but the bitching at teach other does nothing to promote it.

Simon Edited his own Post mate !

His post was not deleted has been moved to another Staff only section.

I still want to know about the Over Moderation as you have put it.

We have not had to delete or move posts since Jewell was banned.

WE DO VERY LITTLE MODERATING AS 99% OF USERS ARE SENSIBLE.

If people complained and Simon decided to remove the link then that's his choice. Perhaps Admin should've left a note saying why the thread disappeared, but they didn't - oh well, never mind.

As for the content - maybe potentially offensive threads should have a clear warning at the top and posted in the Kiddies Play Area.

Roll on WSB, MotoGP, BSB and summer - then there'll be some bike threads to read

what's all this about? i havn't seen discontent like this before and even now i'm sure it's just a misunderstanding.
Let Si and admin sort the facts; the general issue of overmoderation should be dealt with aside from this minor issue.
Age has asked for genuine 'constructive' comments about over moderation in another thread which should help iron this one out.

seriously though, who found that offensive?

i mean cmon, i thought all those steve irwin jokes were in pretty poor taste, but no one said anything ( i personally think they were much worse). Im really suprised anyone even batted an eye lid at this, maybe i'm missing somthing but how can that offend people?
