Re: Assen MotoGP - spoiler
Right, lets upset the apple cart ..... Ducati have a stunning bike, clearly better handling andmore powerful than the opposition, and with a "hungry" rider win the world championship. Over the winter they manage to turn said bike into a pile of poo compared to the opposition and said champion is an also-ran (although signifcantly better than others on the same bike). A past champion has a bike comparable to (not significantly better than) the rest and despite struggles leads the championship. Ducati suddenly find where they went wrong by using this years power package with last years handling package and all of a sudden the world champ is a hero
I think not - Ducati's engineers are the real hero's and the rider is merely the beneficiary ........ changed from spoilt brat spitting his dummy to smiley fella ..... he's not improved - it's just that like last year, he has a package significantly better than the rest
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

agree 100% about the engineers but thats what they get paid to do, dont quite agree with you about stoner,if it was just the package why is melandri struggling like fook on it. stoners obviously gelled with the ducati again much better than the others (unfortunately) i dont particularly want to see him win the title again but its going to be difficult to stop him now hes got a head of steam up.

I have to agree with moose. I personally think that Melandri is struggling for two reasons:
1)the smaller 800's don't suit his style of riding
2)the ducati is clearly set up for their darling stoner
I've never liked stoner, I've always said that before traction control he was a mini careless chucker and his 'on the gas and sod the consequences' rding style is suited to traction control because it tames his heavy wrist.
I still say get rid of traction control and bring back the finesse

stoners 29pts behind with 9 races to go so he could still win by a mile, stoners going to have preference as hes world champ, just like pedrosa and rossi had preference last year within their teams. it happens with all the big teams and is the same in car racing ie schumacher/hamilton
im unsure about the traction control arguement, i'd like to think in a few years time i could afford a 08/09zx10 with basic traction control that would help my riding, unfortunately by banning it now it would hinder whats being developed for us to use on the roads.
