anyway all is sorted now, actually was sorted within a few days but i became ill (not related to the accident) nd became bed ridden for a week or so, savage !

anyway managed to get out of insurance which is a good from my point of view as i have a HUGE excess. the damages to her car is £250 mainly where my HELMET (better than just my skull) hit the car and made a dent...any my bike aswell. luckily for me its just cosmetic damage...but being a 10yr old bike and a grey import fairings are VERY EXPENSIVE... .E.G the fairing that goes around the lamps through a garage its £375 !!!!! i can pick a gunuine honda from a site for £199 or an entire body kit for £280 (ABS plastic).

the girls dad was realling pushing insurance as he couldn't make up his mind what to do !! we both spoke to our insurance companies and was advised that it will most likely be a 50:50 outcome...and due to insurance companies just being a numbers games both our vehicles would be considered a right off...and as its much cheaper for us to do it privately it makes sense for us to sort this out ourselves.... had the idea that as we both just walk our own ways her with £250 damages and me with ~£500 odd. but he couldnt make up his mind for his DAUGHTER on her OWN policy so he was pushing insurance ! no matter how much i threatened with helmet cover, personal injury etc it had no effect ! only way could get out of it was to offer a contribution to her repairs...this was much better for me on !
as insurance will ruin my no claims, nd 2yrs is important for someone like me...low age nd a grey import bike !

anyway enough blabber here are the pics
have reduced the size so quality isnt as great as i hoped anyway :

whats wrong with that image ?

just looking at the reduced quality images they make the bike look less damaged that it is! trust me the damage is worse in real life.
the main damage is on the front left hand side

take care all

ack! you kidding? Sounds like she pulled out in front of him and he's ending up giving her money! maybe i read it wrong, but if someone pulls out in front of you (regardless of if you're filtering) its still %100 their fault.
i dont have a drinking problem.......if anything, i'm too good at it

Not necessarily, filtering is largely considered a grey area, I've heard lots of horror stories from customers over the years where insurance companies have used filtering as an excuse to worm their way out of coughing up and accepting their responsibilities. Shite but true :(

Don't know exact details, but I thought that the law had been changed, getting rid of the grey area, so bikes if filtering get knocked off its not their fault??
Will look it up.

Your gonna have a job claiming if you are hit overtaking or filtering near a right turn. Its a pretty dumb thing to get caught out by.

I was a passenger in my ex wifes car many many years ago when she (at the last minute with almost no warning  )turned across a police motorcyclist and knocked him off (real slow speed impact so the guy was fine). But he was aggressive as hell to her (once he had picked himself up off the deck) completetly missing the fact that he was overtaking a line of cars by a right turn.

Motorcyclists in general do like to think its all other peoples fault and they are not to blame.

I took great glee in asking the guy if he had ever heard of defensive riding and pointed out that he needed to learn to ride a bike or he was going to spend alot of time lying on the road and he could shout at people all he liked but it wasnt going to stop him crashing. We ended up have a mild arguement before he got fed up with me and got back on his bike and cleared off.

karma must exist mind as everytime I get pulled by a police motorcyclist they never let me get away with anything.

This filtering game can be a nightmare, like i said in another helmet/no helmet related post, a bus stopped to let my mate out from work in his astra van, from his right and because of the bus he couldnt see if anyone was coming from his right so he emerged slowly only for a bike to ride past the bus straight into his bonnet, he got the claim as the bike should have taken more care and seen the traffic was stopped and my workmate had witnesses that he was emerging very slowly, but the final nail was that the bike was filtering over double solid white lines and the insurance took the attitude that a double white line means no overtaking, regardless of what you want to call it............

as a slight aside, as I always understood it, a solid white line doesnt mean no overtaking it means your not allowed to cross the white line so providing you have sufficient room you can still overtake ....just not cross the line (so say a bike could overtake a bike , or on a wide enough road with solid lines you occasionally have enough room to legally overtake cars - not often mind as they tend to be narrower roads and squeezing past with only a 2cm to spare between your bar end and car wing mirrors doesnt count as a resaonable amount of room :) )

As i understand, you're quite astute Jason me old mucka, also I had a mate recently got off a nip on this, he was filtering past stationary traffic and crossed one of the double whites in front of a cop and the cop caught him. The solicitor advised that because the traffic was stationary he was actually allowed to filter across them which was double checked. Also the officer wrote the wrong offence code on the ticket
