Thanks for the humour guys, a bit happier today....
It is somewaht ironic I was nagging the kids about clinging to the side-rail!! They did have a good day though, if a somewhat longer stay than expected!
Just meant I was in hospital for the wifes birthday yesterday .....

I'm back again - can't get rid of me that easily
Had op on Wednesday at 4pm (which meant no food from 8pm tuesday through to 8am thursday

), all went well and back on ward by 8.30pm.
yesterday was a very dark day, to be honest I've never known pain quite like that (and I do have a reasonable pain threshold)

but after some alterations yesterday evening and a good nights sleep, I woke up feeling much better this morning
They put a new cast on this morning, gave me a lap of the ward using a zimmer frame

followed by a couple more and some stairs on crutches, and they have now let me go home
The dislocations were "re-located" last Friday night, so on Wednesday they pinned and plated the fractures in the outer bone, then screwed that to the inner bone to locate that one. They then ran a long screw over the top to pick up the torn tendons/ligaments. The last one is not allowed to bear any weight (they said it will rip out the bottoms of the bones its attached to if I do

) and has to remain in place for at least 10 weeks .......

Crikey mate, turning into Iron man aren't you? Have you got a cage around your leg then or was it all internal pinning screwing and blue tak?
