it did the job, she had only ridden an h100 before that and the 125's that they had at the training centre.
they are predictable and easy to ride - varcon had one as his first bike i think - spares are cheap and from the way kim rode hers, fairly bullet proof.
no performance to talk of, tight turning circle, cheap spares

Surely any CB500, ER5 or GS500 will do.
My sister will be selling her CBF500 very soon (later CB500 with mono-shock), circa £1k I think.
Sorry I'm a part 1/ part 2 passer myself. Borrowed a TL125 to do part 2 (5 days after my birthday), had my dad bring over my 250cc X7 to the test centre for me to ride home!

CG125, just after the Ice had begun melting ......
I would have thought inyour instance boring and cheap to repair is good - a learner needs something simple and non-threatening whilst you need something you can protect with crash-bars and repair/service cheaply and economically

I done mine on one of Alex's ccms. I couldn't get on with it at first but loved it in the end!

Re: What Bike did you learn to pass your DAS on ?
My first attempt was on a Honda Nighthawk, 2nd &3rd on a bandit, and finally passed on a diversion
The nighthawk was in hindsight a good choice, it carried its weight well, and was quite agile.
the bandit was not a good choice, but I'd already bought it thinking this bike riding was easy
The diversion wasn't much better tbh, but by the time I did my 4th test I'd had a bit of practice
My mate did his DAS on a cb500, he passed first time, although that may not be because of the bike

Suzuki gs500 [Censored] horrible even my instructor said so but they are cheap to repair lol

The training school I work for uses GS500's, CB500's & ER5's.
If your looking at setting up your own training school you may want to take a good hard look at the 3rd EU Directive due in 2013 when DAS bikes have to be over 600cc. (Unless somebody gets some guts & tells the EU to bogoff) We're already starting to look around for a load of suitable 650's.
