Pressure !! This is my first ride out ! Are these guidelines on the forum somewhere so I can read up on them whilst Avin me breakfast ?

It aint rocket science. It is the method most use to mark the route and hopefully not 'lose' anybody.

Junction Markers/Tail End Charlie TEC

Marking junctions helps keep everyone going in the same direction, we use the drop off system on our runs. The ride leader will indicate where he wants the immediately following rider to stop so that everyone else knows where to turn. They MUST then stay there until the TEC passes and then join back in with the group. On the friendlies junction markers will have an armband so that others will notice them as they make their way back to the front of the group. Generally on the friendlies the junction markers are the more experienced riders that can safely make their way back to the front without un nerving the other riders.
The TEC will stay at the back of the line for the duration of the rideout, they will normally have a bright bib on identify themselves to the other riders.

Great thanks for that, so if there's a nice long stretch ahead there's no opening it up and flying past the whole group only kidding look forward to meeting you all and weather looks perfect

Normally the only one you shouldn't overtake is the ride leader. Other than that it's about having fun and keeping together.

Big thanks to Mellowyellow for organising todays ride.

I really enjoyed it, nice to meet up you all to go out on some great roads.

A few up on Mt. Olympus don't like me. Last run we had an 8 mile diversion to get round a 200 yd. road closure.
This time we ran into a 'landslide' closure. Group decided to try for it and, sure enough we got round all the barriers, piles of krap and cracks in the road to within 6 ft of the other end. Here was a barrier right to the edges of the road and concrete. We saw a car exiting a little lane and with the help of satnav found the other end thereof and not-quite-green-laned a couple of miles along it. Coffee stop was conveniently very close.
Refreshed, we set off for the fuel stop and later turned off towards lunch. Not far along there a sign announce road closed 13 miles. No problem, we're forking off well before that I thought. About a mile down the road the road was closed. A sign said 'follow diversion' but there were no diversion signs to follow. More miles on tiny roads were covered following my nose and instinct and that got us to the scheduled stop. Phew !

Hi All, Just wanted to echo Darren's thanks to mellowyellow for organising rideout and of course to the TEC (sorry I cant remember the names) was a good day even with the diversions. Look forward to the next one

Well, there goes your ride-out virginity Swainers.

I lost mine with this lot's 'friendly ride' back in the spring. A lot of ride out water under the bridge since then !
Glad you enjoyed it.

TEC was JohnSilva with whom I have I have had the pleasure several times . He really hates wearing that yellow vest though. With more than 4 bikes I think it is essential. He's a good lad and also carries a helmet cam.

Vids published on You Thingy under his name. Editing is a long job however. They pop up when they do.
