great day as always at pembrey, and the weather was kind to us once again.
big thanks to deej for the loan of the generator. Much appreciated.
lots of tracktime in our group with only the one fall in the penultimate session (and that was right at the end of the session anyway)
julian was riding the wheels of that 600 of his, I knew there was a bike right on my backwheel as I was braking for the hairpin and just as I turned in im sure I caught a glimpse of blue 600 heading down the escape lane in my peripheral vision.

he got a good pass on me there a little later.
I had my only "moment" of the day in the afternoon when I hit a false neutral selecting third for the left handers, its surprising how much control of the bike you lose when you hit nuetral on even a slight lean...I duly flailed towards the edge of the track but thankfully avoided a grasstracking incident...I think layne and julian where following and must have wondered what the hell I was doing!
really enjoyed the dice in the 2nd afternoon session. Scotty and Julian went past in quick succession and my plans for a more sedate session suddenly got forgotton...just a shame a bike went down at the end of it.

Well what a day
Can't say that the Inters group was that quick but for all the silly incidents we had in it maybe it was a scary group group to be in for the day

, I have been in a few Inters groups at Pembrey and that was one of the mixed Inters groups i have ever been in there

.
Inters is always the dodgy group to be, too proud to be in Novice (thats me

) and too slow to be in Fast (thats me again

) but there was a real mix there yesterday.
Not thats anyones fault for accidents that happened, its just one of them things but its guranteed in the Inters
Got a few thankyous to say.
1st) to Colin for sorting a great day
2nd) to Alan of Pembrey for helping us and staying calm throughout the day
3rd) to Deej for driving such a long way just to be with us and take some pics, obviously not for resale

Great to have you there matey
4th) to jak753 for being such a friendly person. Didn't realise who you were till come the end and shame we didn't get chatting earlier. Top bloke
Nobody has yet mentioned Daves little spill on the trailer before he even got to the track
Big big sorry to anyone else who was at Pembrey for the day for the misshaps, not normally our style for ruining peeps track time

But it was fun anyhow
All the best Funky hope you repair soon honey
Oh and great company as always peeps

Evening All
Well we finally got to the big day and I hope everyone had a good journey home. Ok, perhaps some of the bikes were a little battle worn, but on the whole a good day was had by all.
I spoke to my instructors when we were packing up - to get their final feedback and they were very happy with how things went. Couple of riders needed some encouragement and tidying up of their lines and a few needed a word to, lets say ''kerb their excitment'' but overall well done to everyone.
Couple of Awards and Observations :
If you are part of a large group book the group you feel happy in - or better still, take caution and book in the lower group. Fair play to those who asked to go into Novices and I was glad to sort you out.
Intermediate ''Rider of the day'' - the guy on the supermoto. Sorry i don't know your name but after having a nightmare with the Mille jumped on the SM and showed everyone the right lines around paddock. Nice and smooth and carried plenty of speed. Like I said put those lines on the Mille and Happy Days ! ( just keep it off the grass....)
''Close call of the day'' - Colin on the grass at the old hairpin....I heard the rider came up and apologised afterwards...
''Can't keep a good guy down'' ''Funky'' - 2 bounces and he still wants more. But lets try and complete the day in one piece next time....
''Team of the day'' - U lot. Everyone jumped in to help those to needed assistance spannering.
''Surprise of the day'' Moose's TL getting through Noise testing....
''Biggest smile'' again Moose - from a very late booking / I'll bring the bike anyway / don't mind if I can't get on to Having a great time / the old girl stayed together / must do this again...
Which at the end of the day, is what it's all about.
Last on not least - a large pint for Colin for organising the trip.
Overall a good few days for Phil Bevan Trackdays / Racing. Two Sold Out events at Pembrey, Phil on the Coordit Racing R1 got 2 wins @ Thruxton to take him to 2nd in the championship and Coordit's Richard Cooper got 3rd in the BSB Superstock at Snetterton today.
Many Thanks for your support and we'll look forward to meeting up later in the year
Ride safe.
Alan and Phil.

Thanks Alan
A couple of ("non-riding"

) photo's I took
The night before "around the old camp fire" (and I fear someone might be upset with me now ....

)
The morning after
Four blokes, three bikes ....... only two of the five survived the day unscathed
Finally, there's always one idiot, and this one brought a mini-moto to the track
Edit: Sorry, due to the site's wierd ways of choppinmg photo's some folks may not see all the pictures

Moose, the TL had started creating his smoke screen exiting the hairpin last lap round when he passed us lot,we were on the outside of the 2 left handers. He then somehow made it round, took the chequered flag which he didn't see and passed 3 or 4 into the hairpin before duly falling off at 15mph,he was a accident waiting to happen and I'm suprised he got that far round

Tell me about it...
I haven't ever done that before, so when it happened to me going into Brooklands hairpin I wondered WTF was happening...
Have I run out of fuel ? have I broken down ? ... WTF ... Managed to scramble a gear from somewhere and get round safely... Thank God...
My 'other' Moment, a massive High side outta Hatchetts Hairpin, up in there, landed on the bike... Wahaay... Ride 'em Cowboy

Thanks guys for another memorable trackday, even if not for all the right reasons. At least we all got home although some work is needed.
Much better to go with a group like you lot.
Wow Julian improves every time he goes out. Good safe battles in the fast group (while they lasted). Staring to ach now, need to lose some weight and get fit-er. I think me and the bike are starting to show our age.

Nick, not quite sure how you stayed on your bike when it tried to flick you off out of the hairpin. I had a big gasp of air when I saw it happening so god knows what you felt lol

Good to meet you all on saturday and a big thank you for welcoming me as a total newcomer to the group, it makes a difference to have some company on the day
I didn't get to find out who provided the chairs, but it was especially good to have a seat and a place to park my gear, thanks again whoever you are
As some of you know, I had a minor off at the hairpin the day before, which knocked my confidence a bit, I just hope I didn' t get in anyones way too much on the track, if so my apologies
Good chatting to you too Blimey

and everyone else whose faces I remember (Dave, Chris, Red R1?)
will no doubt get to meet you all again some time
Ride safe
Jak

You saw it ? I didn't notice anyone there, did give the marshall on the inside a wave to say I was ok though...
Were you in 'Camera Mode' then by any chance...

Nope sorry,if I had that on film it would have been posted up long before now. We were on the outside at the first of the two lefts and I just happened to look down as you were exiting the hairpin and saw you up out of the seat waving to your imaginary friends lol looked very impressive I must say
