how can you possibly claim this?

have you ever owned an SV?

dont try to claim that honda build quality is superior because IMO its not, the electrics on all the 400's are fragile (reg/rec's anyone? commonly replaced with Yamaha items), the exhausts rust through on all of them NC23,24,29,30,35...... they're all mild steel, I'll try to find the thread started about the 3yr old cbr600 with buggered cams in warranty less tha 16k IIRC, I think we've heard that story before sometime (VFR750!!). have you had the pleasure of taking the carbs of a 30 yet? its not fun trying to get them on again, Oh, and dont forget taking the swingarm off to ge the exhaust out, I giggled for hours doing that one!!

anyway, fantastic little bikes them NC30's, find a good one and learn to do bends properly and you'll be set up for life.

the SV is a cracking bike as well, a bit more power than the 400's, a bit more weight but they do handle well and last well if it's looked after.
NC30 and NC35 have a full stainless steel system as standard, The NC23 and 29 are mild steel though. You dont need to remove the swingarm to remove the exhaust on a NC30 either, Carbs are fine, just need some jiggling as it's a V4 configuration. The build quality on a NC30/35 is far better than a SV650, infact it's probably better than most bikes made to this very day, which is why they were more expensive than a CBR1000 when released.

if you dont need to remove the swingarm would you like to explain to me how the hell you get the dam thing out because I could not for the life of me get the shocker out to get at the bolts on the rear heads.

the parts at the rear of the front pipes are mild steel and rot, the adaptor between the rear head and rear pipe is mild steel and rots, the inner sleeve on the NC24 silencer is mild steel and rots........ :?

Carbs IMO are not fine they are a pain in the ass, making sure the rubbers are seated properly to avoid air leaks is not simple especially on the RHS where access is limited, the choke mechanism is a pain as it easily seizes and despite many strips (on my NC24) I could not get the bloomin thing to work properly and had to hold the rear pots lever open untill it was properly warm.

I had my SV for 4 years, rode it in all weathers, as I do with all my bikes, and it never suffered from any corrosion appart from the fork lowers which were replaced under warranty and the rear brake torsion bar which again was replaced under warranty.

look after any bike properly and it will stand the test of time, neglect it and it will rot, despite the original price of the NC30, they had and still have problems just as ducati's, Bimota's, Aprilia's, Kawasaki's, Suzuki's, KTM's.......................................................you get the idea.

but as I said, they are a brilliant bike, not just for learners but for anyone who likes going round bends fast. 8)

You need a nice ZX7R mate.
Loads of grunt. Can sruise comfortably at 120mph and top 170mph if you so wish. Handle really well. And cheap as chips. Just insure it TP.

I did donny on mine and was only left by Gixxers and R1's on the straights. caught a few up around corners because the front end on 7R's is just sooooo planted!

You can have mine for £1500.
MOT'd about a month ago. 5 months tax.

Dunno about insurance though. I've got a traders policy so I just enter whatever I own onto the MID and it's insured fully comp.

I changed my exhaust on my NC30 without taking the swing arm off. That's a bit extreme! There's a thread on how I did it on here somewhere. Think its in the Mechanical section... Oh, I retuned the carbs as well, which was the first bit of mechanical work I did. It's pretty basic dude.
