I'll be there, with 5 other mates, as I've been double booked, such is my popularity

Not sure if we'll all be on the same page for Saturday's ride but will be there for evening piss taking and the ride back on Sunday. Not sure what time I'll be going up so may have to meet you up there. F

. . . . .counting on it Brian. No doubt a certain Chard resident feels the same - I'm not the only one on the Wales weekend in the so-called 'vulnerable' bracket .

Wendy asked about how things stand at the Neuadd Arms. When I emailed them they promptly answered:-

I've had some of my group asking what your policy is regarding refund of deposits if we have to cancel our stay in June. I'm hoping the situation still allows us to stay with you and have advised friends to hold fire at the moment and see how things pan out with the Coronavirus situation. Please advise me on this.

Hello Brian,
What uncertain times we are living through. The hotel is now currently closed and we await guidance from the Government as to what our next steps are.
We will of course refund your deposits if you are unable to come but would ask that you perhaps postpone your booking until a later date.

So if things do not let our soiree go ahead as planned how about a later date when things are back(ish) to normal? My preference would be early September? What later dates suit you lot?

I'd love to think that the country will be safe and free of the virus by July or August, but my considered personal opinion is that we should be prepared to knock the Wales weekend on the head entirely for this year .

It (our common enemy) is deffo going to get worse (maybe far worse) before it gets better. For it to run it's course could take many months and the current prediction is that there's no effective innoculation expected this year. We and the rest of the world may well be in it for the long-haul.

I suspect Brian that, at best, we'll be restricted to solo only outings and so we'd all best get used to perfecting the Ptolemyx nod 'n wave .

Keep us posted mate.

I think you've got a few weeks before you have to cancel this.
IF, and I do mean IF this is under control and things are getting back to 'normal' by May/June then any places that are nice to visit are going to get booked up quickly as people strive to get out.
The hotel sound really understanding so I would imagine you've got a good 6 or 7 weeks before you need to pull the trigger on this trip.

Yep, I strongly advise do not cancel bookings with the Neuadd yet. Who knows it could all be over within the 3 week lockdown....

As of 1st July I've got us pencilled in for 11-13 September.

And Phil can't make 11-13 Sep so I've put up a poll for the three weekends I can do. Would those coming please vote
