Dare i say it...... But the forecast looks good
Jay you had to go and say it........
Spent weeks having to work looking out the window saying I'm missing the British summer and its come early.
Eventually get out for 3 days of pure biking and quality road riding......
and now going to be pissing it down
It'll be fine.
It looked pretty dire last year but in reality there was hardly any rain while we were riding.
Can be plenty of it over night though so I have given my bike a good clean and a fresh coating of ACF-50.
The weather will be fine, a few showers don't harm anyone

That reminds me, have you had the ABS tested?
No I haven't..... where could I get it tested?
FJR Club. They also pump/activate it a few times each service as this helps keep it working.
Where is the FJR Club? as i want to upgrade the rear shock and fork internals.

FYI Rob. I've provisionally asked Lindsay and Katherine to sit us down for Friday's evening meal at 19.30.
Plenty of time for a few ciders before that

If you want suspension done pretty cheap, they do a YSS replacement shock. They will do forks as well.
Alternatively Simon might do suspension. About 10 mins from me is MH Racing suspension specialists and he's just done my forks. I'm saving up for ohlins on the back but at this rate i might end up with YSS again.

Thanks buddy, I have heard that YSS is a good replacement for stock.

It was a definate improvement on my first FJR. The original shock wasnt supporting the back end so it was understeering, the YSS shock sorted it. You can pay a bit more and get a remote preload to the YSS which, if you doing riding with/without a pillion is IMHO worth it.

Looking at the latest weather forecasts for Saturday, if needed, I have an alternative ride out route that if we leave later than normal should avoid the worst rain:-
https://maps.app.goo.gl/ytnytwRbFwq8vW487
Fuel in Llandovery
On to A482 at Llanwrda for Lampeter
A485 through Tregaron and on towards Aberystwyth
Stop at "The Smoke Shack" on the outskirts of Aberystwyth for a bite and coffee/tea
A4120 to Devils Bridge
Elan Valley and mountain road to Rhayader
Back to base at the Neuadd is 110 miles

Yup, Saturday's not looking the sunniest on record. Think our waterproofs are going to get a workout.
Jug - I won't be joining you at Ilminster, and if I'm not at the Chepstow store when you get there I might not see any of your lot at all until the Neuadd. Feel free to look into the Courtroom Cafe in Crickhowell on your way through though, I might still be there stuffing my face.

Tomorrow, Friday, I'm likely to stop at the Cafe in Crickhowell for nosh and miss out the western Beacons loop through Abercraf and Brynammen. I just can't stand that bit between the two via Ystradgynlais.
