Take yer waterproofs......

Have never known anything waterproof yet.
Always gets you in the crotch.
Take plenty of dry underwear.

Best I've had was waxed cottons with tight collar and overmits + wellies.

Several Bristol - London trips on the old 500T with virtually zero ingress.

Just remembered that there were no lights on M4 until Maidenhead. A great relief to get there.

My suit was a rubberized cotten, weighed a ton, let every watt of heat from your body and did I mention was heavy. Dreadful kit , but it was what was available. Modern kit is much lighter, and still leaks-------somewhere.
Will probably find out this weekend.but at least there will be heaters to dry your kit overnight so not so bad.

Turned up at the Park Lane Hilton one evening for the girl friend's company annual do.

Was a deluge all the way from Bristol. I had the evening dress mit purple frilly shirt and cummerbund in the back pack.

Got past the guards and changed in the loo. Free bar put me right.

Twisties via Chepstow and Usk to Abergavenny for fuel and a cuppa at Gingers, Then more twisties via Brynmawr and Brecon to the Neuadd Arms. If We feel up to it I might add a loop from Chepstow up the Tintern to Monmouth road and back down via Trelleck and Devauden….
