RttB and the Covid situation.

Due to the current Covid restrictions and the lack of brekky stops open before 10am, would people be interested in delaying the RttB until later in July, which will coincide with the next round of possible restrictions being loosened up?
So far we only have 5 takers so we are within the guidelines at the moment but if any more wish to join in then we will have to split the ride up into separate groups etc.
From a personal point of view( mine and not admin) I feel this would break the spirit of the RttB and what it means to be part of it, the SWB gang having a chance to get together with distant friends etc.
Fill in the poll and feel free to discuss below.
Cheers, Badger.

Personally I will not have a bike to be able to ride this, as the bike i am borrowing is going back to its owner. However I would say that if this continues then this needs to be
1) Grouped into 6 riders. per group each with a leader
2) Needs to start at a different location and at a different time
3) Needs either a different finishing point or must not arrive until the last group has left so that not more then 6 people are meeting up
4) Food and drink needs to be taken with people as it can not be purchased.
Or just arrange it later in the year and start the ride later in the day.

So pretty much the same as the other rides we've been doing then.
Start and stop procedure - You can't dictate how many people stop at a certain point at a certain time. If group 1 pulled in and then another group from another ride from a different organisation tried to pull in would this then turn into a non contact turf war? No, it would just be a case of people using their common sense to deal with a real new-world situation. Like they do in a fuel stop or walking around the supermarket.
Different time and place - pretty sure that other than truckers and perverts, nobody else will be hanging around Service station carparks and laybys at 4 if the morning on a Sunday, it's not like we're gonna be searching for space.
Food and drink - yep, bring ya own, Cornwall doesn't open up before 10 most of the year anyway, it's just am extended winter opening time now.

Sorry perhaps a bit to direct with my suggestions. Lets try this.
The government has suggested no more then a group of 6 people to gather together.
So lets do that and not have 20 people stood together

We're allowed 6 in a group but where ever we are and stop at, make a point of the distancing. Restrictions are going to be in place for ages yet so let's do it. Yes it'll be weird and different to previous rttb's... But think it'll be tthis way for a while yet...

Copied from the RttB thread....
There are going to be further announcements about social distancing in the next two weeks, could be coming down to 1 meter, they may also revise groups size etc as it's all linked into getting Pubs open. As for daylight time for riding early etc. the difference will be minimal as long as we rearrange for within a month's time.
Just to make everyone aware whilst it seems the country has abandoned any Covid distancing, rules etc ( it would seem the death of one man is far more important than the deaths of 43,000 +) there is quite a bit of animosity towards treating Cornwall as if it's open to the public again. A lot of this stems from holiday home owners trying to drive here to isolate, putting further pressure on our one Hospital and group rides locally face similar pressures due to potential for accidents, again stretching already stretched resources. This doesn't of course mean you get pelted with rocks and faeces when you cross the border, but the cops are a lot more on it than up country, as are residents reporting gatherings etc. Lands End is closed to the public, but I believe the car park is open.
Personally I would prefer to hang on for a couple more weeks, see what happens with the Pubs and we may find a bigger welcome, with earlier opening times on cafes etc.

Unless it's a group of school kids and then you can have as many as you want. By next week I doubt if social distancing will exist.
