Wales - 18th to 20th June 2021

Post by ptolemyx »

Date will be June 18-20.

Suggestions please for a new area and venue. Ideally not much more than £50 per night dinner bed and breakfast and awesome roads. I will sort the weather again

Really interested in trying to join this. As I know very little about wales not going to offer any suggestions will just hopefully come along for the ride.

I did notice that Sunday 20th is Father day so for all with kids that's either going to help you get the approval or kill it.

Cheers for arranging Brian really hoping the new BMW gets to stretch its legs on this trip :D B-)

I think that's a positive as less people on the road? :-)

Didn't Ming mention something about Norfolk?

I'd be quite happy to be able to do both!

I've had a quick ask around in various places and am struggling to find anything with the same budget as the Neuad was offering, and a lot of places have limited space.

Norfolk is a hell of a trek and not a particularly pleasant journey.

This place is just a bit further north.
Close to Barmouth. Been there before the recent change of ownership and it was very good. The prices are similar'ish

TBH most roads in Wales are cracking for bikes Si.
I did a road trip around Wales in an F Type Jag for my 50th and wished we'd taken the bike.
Some brilliant mountain roads which don't look much on a map but are superb in "real life".

Yep, the mountain roads are ace and most of the A and B roads are fine too. Nearly all of mid and north Wales are biking heaven, though Snowdonia obviously gets more traffic. Phil is looking at a place in Aberystwyth right now - top man. The Trem Hyfryd looks good too John :-bd

I, honestly don't think there's another area within what might be considered reasonable riding distance for our weekend jolly. Just hoping for a change from the Neuadd for our base camp, though there's nothing much wrong with the Neuadd. Going a bit further north opens up different Saturday ride out routes.

Have you noticed that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster is a maniac ?
