For those that might have missed it: From January 2021, those attending MSV trackdays - bikes must be fitted with a front brake lever guard.
Here's the info' and the relevant section, taken from their 'Bike Trackday Requirements': Vehicle Requirements
The vehicle you intend to use must be in good condition both mechanically and bodily and suitable for its intended use on the track. It is your duty to ensure that the vehicle remains in this condition for the duration of the activity, in the interests of your safety and the safety of others at the circuit. All vehicles must also comply with our noise regulations. Touring bikes must remove all luggage boxes and trikes are not permitted. From Jan 2021 all bikes must be fitted with front brake lever guards. . . . . . . https://www.msvtrackdays.com/bike/terms-and-conditions/
Had seen this, not sure why it's happening though.
I mean you can pick one up for a couple of quid as pm many people make them using 3d printers nowadays.

So are you suggesting they become compulsory on the road too? Should abs also be compulsory, after all plenty have died following front wheel lockup and off?
Sorry i don't agree, obviously will have to comply, else i won't be able to do any msv tracks but i really don't agree.
What about having 4 outrigger wheels fitted?
Will having brake guards make some riders less careful about overtakes?
i've them on mine for a couple of years, no big deal.
i think it may stop a lot of people with road bikes from having a toe dipper though

It kind of already is for road use, but thankfully just for new bikes as retrofitting abs would be very costly.
From Google "On January 1st, 2016, it became mandatory for all motorcycles that have an engine displacement greater than 125cc to have an ABS system fitted. In addition, smaller motorised two-wheelers with a displacement of 50cc or more are now required to have either ABS or a combined brake system fitted."
Glad this got everybody talking.
My comments were intended to be somewhat inflammatory.
I would like the choice, i certainly will not miss out on a trackday just because of brake guard requirement, they're a good idea but i (currently) only have hand guards fitted on 2 of my 3 bikes, unfortunately the 1 i use for trackdays does not.
Not sure I see the point on a road bike - if you're that close you're at risk of a third party applying the front brake, your kinda in the last chance saloon (possibly literally ) anyway ....
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....
Handle stressful situations like a dog - If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away
I've handing guards on the superduke. There's also a few supermotos that come with them.
